@adekunleolopade Since you are here, let me ask
Will #WhatILearnt Series be a podcast?
For me, I would want it to a podcast. Your calming voice would make it an exceptional series, particularly for unwinding after a lengthy day.

LESSON 7/25: It pays off to keep your space green 🍃🌿
When the renovations of the former Belgian school began, one of the most painstaking tasks agreed upon with the contractors was to preserve and protect every tree above 3m.
There is no need to tell you how hard this was, especially since the renovation involved lots of wiring and plumbing to transform a half-century-old school into the modern campus you see today.
But as they say, where there is a will, there is always a way. Norrksen’s commitment to greenery can be seen today in our outdoor and indoor spaces.
Why should this matter for every entrepreneur when choosing a workspace for your team?
👉🏾Prioritize Employee Well-being:
Pick an office that integrates nature into the workspace for a positive and productive environment.
Consider the impact of greenery on employee mental health and satisfaction.
👉🏾Embrace Flexibility:
Pick workspaces that allow for dynamic collaboration and individual focus.
Provide adaptable areas that cater to diverse work styles and preferences, including indoor and outdoor workspaces.
👉🏾Enhance Creativity:
Thoughtful design choices enhance creativity.
A nature-infused atmosphere can also stimulate innovation and problem-solving.
👉🏾 Office Space Influences Company Culture:
Recognize the significant role of office space in shaping company culture.
Choose a space that aligns with your vision and promotes a thriving, collaborative, and eco-friendly work environment.
Speaking of green workspaces, a new building will open at Norrsken 🇷🇼 in the first quarter 2024.
Book your space before it is too late.

LESSON 6/25: Sustainability is good business 💡
Did you know that the majority of the power used at Norrsken comes from solar panels?
Every month, these panels save us millions of francs that we would otherwise pay for conventional electricity and tons of CO2 emissions.
What can you learn from this?
1. Eco-friendly practices can reduce operational costs. It isn’t just about ethics; it’s a smart business move that improves your bottom line.
2. Sustainability can be a differentiator in your market. It isn’t just a trend but rather a strategic advantage that attracts environmentally conscious consumers, a fast-growing segment of the market.
3. Sustainability reflects a long-term vision and responsibility. It isn’t just a philosophy; it’s a commitment that builds trust and loyalty with your stakeholders.
4. Customers increasingly prefer sustainable options. It’s a global shift in consumer behavior that should guide your business plans and practices.
5. A firm commitment to sustainable practices can lead to creative problem-solving and true market differentiation.
At the end of the day, there is no planet B.

LESSON 5/25: Partnerships are an excellent catalyst for growth.
Our earliest partners, such as the Novartis Foundation, with whom we founded the HealthTech Hub Africa, were critical to our learning curve.
Not only did they sponsor ~30% of our initial members and mobilize financial and non-financial resources for entrepreneurs, but they also helped inform our strategy for working with partners moving forward.
Without them, our start in Kigali wouldn't have been as smooth.
What can you learn from this as an entrepreneur?
- Collaborations can extend your reach and resources.
- Choose partners who align with your vision and values.
- Clear communication and shared goals are essential.
- Partnerships can lead to new opportunities and markets.
- Maintain autonomy and ensure mutual benefit.
I can't emphasize enough the last part 🤝

LESSON 4/25: Building physical infrastructure is hard, but building a #community is even harder - yet it is the most essential asset you can ever dream of.
In the early days of Norrsken in Kigali, as we pressed ahead with the renovations of the former Belgian school, we were simultaneously mobilizing and building a community of future users of this infrastructure.
The input gathered was a source of valuable insights and helped determine the level of investment Norrsken was to commit to the ecosystem.
What can entrepreneurs learn from this?
- Every interaction is an opportunity to build relationships that can lead to lasting partnerships and collaborations.
- A strong network opens doors and provides a crucial support system during challenges, turning your network into a valuable asset.
- Diversity within a community fosters innovation and richer ideas, bringing varied perspectives to the table.
- Treat community feedback as a compass for improvement, and you'll build a product that meets and exceeds expectations.
- Remember, your first users or customers are not just transactions but potential community ambassadors who can amplify your brand.
Personally, I can't thank enough our initial supporters. Without their encouragement and feedback, the level of Norrsken’s ambitions in Rwanda wouldn’t have been where it is today.

Lesson 3/25: SHARE YOUR PLANS
Since the early days of Norrsken in Kigali, we have been fortunate enough to work with some of the best designers in the region.
However, even the best design committees cannot accurately predict how people will use your infrastructure.
By publicly sharing our plans and designs, we collected valuable feedback to feed future iterations of our financial models and the usage of various spaces on the campus.
What can you learn from this?
1. Adaptability is Key:
Even with top designs, predicting user behavior is challenging. Prioritize adaptability in your solutions to swiftly respond to changing user needs.
2. Transparency Drives Trust:
Publicly sharing plans and designs isn't just about openness—it builds trust. For entrepreneurs, transparent communication can increase credibility with (future) users and stakeholders.
3. Feedback Loops Fuel Innovation:
Actively seek and embrace user feedback. Establish robust feedback loops to iteratively refine your solutions, ensuring they stay relevant and practical in a dynamic market.
4. Community-Centric Approach:
Tailor your offerings to the specific needs of the local community. Understanding the unique challenges and aspirations of users in the region is crucial for business success.
5. Iterate Based on Insights:
Use collected feedback not just for validation but for informed iteration. Continuously refine your solutions based on real-world insights, creating a product that truly meets the evolving demands of the market landscape.
At Norrsken 🇷🇼, we have had to make changes to our own infrastructure based on this kind of feedback, and our latest building is designed to be as flexible as possible depending on the needs of future occupants.

Lesson 2/25: THE NAME MATTERS.
In my first meeting with the leadership of Norrsken in Stockholm, one of the crucial issues we discussed was how we would pronounce “norrsken” in Kigali, being the first expansion market outside of Sweden.
“ norrsken” is a beautiful name that translates to “northern lights” in Swedish. However, the original pronunciation can be perplexing for non-Swedish speakers.
Being a non-Swedish speaker myself, grasping the correct pronunciation was crucial in those early days. It would later prove instrumental when presenting the brand to prospective employees, Norrsken members, the media, and other stakeholders in the new region.
I experienced the importance of this when I was the chief evangelist at Babylon Health. I spent countless hours explaining why we were called Babylon instead of focusing on the message of what Babylon did: leveraging tech to democratize access to quality healthcare.
Ultimately, we had to remove the (on) in Babylon to end up with Babyl.
What can you learn from this episode?
In the globalized world, a brand name holds significant weight when entering a foreign market.
It's more than just a linguistic nuance; it's a crucial element of cultural respect and business strategy.
A correctly pronounced name not only reflects a commitment to understanding and embracing local customs but also establishes a genuine connection with the target audience.
It goes beyond mere communication; it symbolizes cultural sensitivity, fostering goodwill and breaking down barriers.
Entrepreneurs who get these details properly signal a dedication to inclusivity and a willingness to adapt, ultimately enhancing their brand image and increasing the likelihood of market success.
In an era where authenticity and cultural awareness are paramount, getting the name right is more than a linguistic detail – it's a strategic imperative.
My hope is that there will be a time when ''norrsken'' is a commonly known brand in Kigali and a five-year-old can recognize and read it the ''right way''.

I learnt tonight that MONEY is an EXCHANGE OF VALUE.
If you are not making money then you need to ask yourself are you truly giving the right WORTH OF VALUE for it?

One underrated tip to solve a problem is to sleep on it. If I find myself stuck on the subject, I usually give myself a night to sleep on it. Most of the time, the next day I find multiple solutions to it. #whatilearnt #therawscientist
@HoFChurchNG I learned about the importance of correction. A powerful tool in the hands of God through the men He has put in our lives to make us become what He wants us to be. To change, we must focus on the things that bring change!

GOD would NEVER skip classes for you!
You don't get it once, you repeat the class until you get it!
The more times you don't take the corrections, the harder it gets to repent!
Don't waste your time repeating!
This stuck with me!
