Iโd had an Amstrad CPC 464 for a few years before and if say I really liked computer games
But in 91, I got a Game Boy andโฆ thatโs where the real love for gaming started!

Loads of games come out just before the Christmas rushโฆ but how many games came out on actual Christmas Eve?!
Well, some surprising ones!
The classic - and seminal! - Rockman 2 got its Japanese release for Famicom on Dec 24 1988!!
I didnโt think I could love Street Fighter any more โฆ until the Alpha series came along!
The first was a brilliant change of style, the second is maybe my favourite game ever, and the third is a cracking way to round off the era - if a little overcooked!!

Itโs February 1994 and Sonic 3 has been rushed to market to fit the timeline of a McDonaldโs promotion
The huge shift in the dev timeline makes sense if you consider the millions spent on the promotion
It makes less sense when you see the Happy Meal toys ๐

The build up to Sonic 3โs release in 1994 felt more muted than Sonic 2
We were definitely hyped, but SEGA had a lockdown on press coverage and it just wasnโt on the same level - stories told later suggest itโs cos the game was unfinished until literally days before!
