The Cairns Cup is the premier Matchplay tournament in Adaptive Golf. July 11th - 18th, 2026, the event was held at The San Roque Club, Andalucia. Much anticipated, it exceeded expectations and was the epitome of team spirit and sport at its best. Talented golfers overcame physical limits and challenges to play some elite-level golf.
The world’s finest adaptive golfers played 3 competitive days in temperatures in excess of 34 degrees Celsius. After day 1, Four-Ball Betterball,
Europe had a commanding lead of 5 - 1. Day two’s Foursomes saw Europe increase their lead to 10 - 2. The final day was a triumph for the European players, taking the Cup 18 - 6.
The victory for Europe was exuberantly celebrated but it was about much more than winning. It is about friendship, sportsmanship, patience, perseverance and respect.

The Cairns Cup is about inspiring others, building lifelong friendships and showcasing disability golf. The teams have the shared belief we have the power to change lives.” @KrisAves1 Team Captain Europe.
“The Cairns Cup Team, USA, 2026, is a group of individuals with a common cause. Whether their impairment is physical or mental, the individuals overcame loss of limb, loss of function or loss of sight to form a team of one mind and body. It was about like-minded individuals spreading the word disability is about a state of mind. Overcoming and changing opinions was the victory both teams were after.”

@SanRoqueCub showed why it is a prestigious venue. It made the players and families feel truly welcome. The course, the organisation and everyone working there were exceptional. The Member volunteers were incredibly supportive on the course and throughout the event.
“The Cairns Cup was the best event I have ever been involved in, an amazing week and a pleasure to get to know the players and their families. They arrived as strangers and left lifelong friends. The week saw personal adversity achieve greatness. Everyone involved in The Cairns Cup learned so much. We saw those who thought they couldn’t play golf again believe they can. We realised those who can make Adaptive Golf available should. Golf must be a sport for everyone & available to everyone……..Let’s make it happen!
