@teachnext_tmb yes! Math is a colonial project removed from cultural practices. An #AfroFutureMath would re-embeds "math" back into cultural and community practices so not just youth but everyone sees how they practice/use it daily #AbolitionScience

@teachnext_tmb A3: I think there is a reframing that has to happen as @professornaite speaks about. Math as a tool of social relations used to solve problems instead of a tool that stratifies society #AfroFutureMath #AbolitionScience

@teachnext_tmb A2: I recently had a convo about how the 'what do you wanna be when you grow up?' question is/was a scam as it ultimately asked us to figure out what our role will be in racial capitalist society 1/2 #AfrofutureMath #AbolitionScience

@Idil_A_ @teachnext_tmb also I lovE lovE lOVE LOVE Octavia Butler. It's not talked about as much as Wild Seed, but the Xenogenesis/Lillith's Brook trilogy is amazing. #AfroFutureMath #AbolitionScience
