@JohnsonJeffro Gygax is pretty clear in appendixA that it’s to save a DMs bacon when players take a turn he didn’t expect. It’s designed for about 4 hours of gaming then you abductive reason out what the rest of the dungeon may be about between sessions etc.

Does anyone have any examples of using Appendix A that aren't "trust me bro, I use it all the time." I'm curious as to how locked and stuck doors are populated since there isn't a table to roll for door state on. I would prefer a written play example if possible.
@DoomstoneCrom If the players keep going back to the same places it’s a good idea to flesh out the map. If they keep throwing you curve balls then the advantage they get by havin the dm flustered is offset by the 3-10 minutes they lose for the dm to roll on #appendixA or #appendixB
@DoomstoneCrom The rube is usually right but our experience in #dubzaron does not include taking hours to roll a couple #appendixA rooms. Getting good is the main thing. Giving yourself a net by prerolling a few things until you git gud works well too.
@JohnsonJeffro If the players want to get to level 7 of a dungeon it will take at least 1 session, likely 4 or 5 to find a way down to level 7. You only have to deliver a single session at a time, drawing or inventing the dungeon as needed with #appendixA or between sessions

Although #dubzaron solved thag problem by using #appendixA so Joe and Bob can take turns being pc session 2 session in the same dungeon and it doesn’t matter bc randomly generated dungeon.
