There was some C. mitchelli flowering up #Bindea this week, and also some Ehretia membranifolia (not all of it though). Notelaea microcarpa was in early fruit too. Breynia oblongifolia in full fruit.

@LoneRangifer Codonocarpus attenuatus (bell-fruit tree) occurs as a fire-ephemeral in more easterly parts of NSW. Here it is at #Bindea, Gunnedah, in a small patch of woodland with Triodia in the understorey. Despite years of bushwalking, I never saw them there until after a fire.
@synapse101 @Mygal_Lady There used to be lots of #koalas up #Bindea too, but their numbers crashed due to the drought. I haven't found one up there (after two weeks of trying). Finally we saw one yesterday, a bit further afield:

Finally, a #koala! After many weeks of looking we saw this fella in a poplar box 30 km west of Gunnedah on the Oxley Highway.
@synapse101 @Mygal_Lady It's a great little town. When you visit, head up to #Bindea (Porcupine Lookout). It's a great little patch of bush, full of all sorts of surprises:

However, it wasn't until my bush walk yesterday, along the NE and E slopes of #Bindea, that I realised the extent of the drought impacts on this important reserve.
The main tree impacted was white box (Eucalyptus albens).
Small trees were affected...

Here's another drought-affected mallee on the northern slopes of #Bindea, Gunnedah. Probably another Dwyer's Red Gum.
This one is showing some resprouting.
