#BlindProTip If you’re going to an unfamiliar place, get a number beforehand for where you’re going and put it in your phone so, should you need assistance and no-one is around and/or you do not wish to use visual interpreting, you can just give the place a call right from there.
#BlindProTip If you’ve had even the most minute amount of alcohol, never, ever put yourself in a situation where you have even the remotest possibility of spilling something. Personal experience.
#BlindProTip I use @BeMyEyes for their Specialized Help and for the more basic tasks that your “Average Joe” could describe to us with little to no problem. I use @airio when more specialized description may be needed but of a less technical nature than with Specialized Help..
#BlindProTip If you can’t find #AudioDescription for a particular movie, if a book has been written related to it, it might first be helpful to read the book before watching the movie without Audio Description, so you can get a better idea of what is happening in the movie.
#BlindProTip, if there’s a text image on a website or in an app that you can’t share sheet with any of your blindy OCR apps, try taking a screen shot of it and sharing the screen shot with those apps. This has worked for me before. #workaround #BlindTwitter #a11y
#BlindProTip To quickly access #emoji, set them as #shortcuts. Go to Settings > Keyboard Settings > Text Replacement, set the emoji as the Phrase and set the string of keys you want to use to bring up the emoji as your shortcut. #BlindTwitter

#BlindProTip You don’t have to go to some special training facility to learn adaptive tech, independent living, etc, if you have the Internet and are OK being self-taught. YouTube is especially helpful. #a11y
#BlindProTip: #YouTubeTV does, in fact, offer #AudioDescription if individual stations carry it on their SAP channel. Just go to “More Options > Primary” and switch that to “Alternate”. (Strangely, not even YouTube TV themselves have known of this when asked!) @googleaccess
So, the hashtag #BlindProTip really needs to be a thing. The blind leading the blind as far as giving advice to one another under it, I think, would be a good resource here on Twitter. #BlindTwitter #LowVisionTwitter
#BlindProTip: If you are #lowvision, need to eliminate glare but need as much light as possible, hats are a good alternative to sunglasses.
#BlindProTip: When u even remotely think u're going to have to interact with the public, have your #whitecane with you even if not using it.
