(4/6) #BOU2024 #BREAK2: The database got 3583 individuals with 172 species (about 680 species on Checklist of the Birds of Taiwan, non-vagrant species around 500) reported colliding with glass structures year-round without seasonal and spatial differences. 🗺️🪟🐦

4/7 Many did not like the idea of #parakeets in rural areas. Few agreed on #parakeet negative impacts but few wanted it in their local area. #Parakeets in urban areas were accepted more + many liked its aesthetics, suggesting separation of appearance from impacts #BOU2024 #BREAK2

3/7 Awareness of #parakeet was high (90%). Many people knew its name to genus (43%) and species (55%) level. Less knew #parakeet numbers in UK (17%) & its full native range (10%). Respondent sample = 3,989 which overlapped well with #parakeet distribution in UK #BOU2024 #BREAK2

5/6 #BOU2024 #BREAK2: Last year, I did a preliminary study focussing on early hatching stage, using the same disturbance factor but collecting data through a camera recorder. But I wanted to improve this method to get more precise results.
