Currently rewatching The X-Files on Blu-ray and I keep telling myself that we need a 4K UHD release one day. Such a gorgeous show. Let's do Buffy too while we're at it! @illuminateHLWD @TheBessMan @thexfiles @thedigitalbits @BillHuntBits @Disney @BuffyTVS #BuffyHD
For many fans, season 5 of Buffy is one of the best. Unfortunately, it didn't receive any special treatment for its HD version. @brianwankum #BuffyHD
Everything is purple, cold, dull. But now, Tara is bathed in light again! #BuffyHD
"Hush" is one of the scariest episodes of the series. The atmosphere is completely ruined in the HD version. #BuffyHD
The HD version of "Hush" will leave you speechless. Drab looking, so bright that vampires could burst into flames in the middle of the night, DNR'ed to death... Here are 12 new screenshots I tried to fix. @stevendeknight #Buffy #BuffyHD
The strong brown tint is back in the last scene!
The scenes in the new dimension aren't good. Especially during the famous "I'm Buffy." speech where she looks pale and... green. #BuffyHD
Today's episode is "Anne". This is one of the most criticized episodes of the HD version because of the beach scene (where the sunset is replaced by a blue, desaturated tint). So I tried to fix that (and 11 other shots)! #BuffyHD
Not the worst episode in terms of colors and brightness, but here's a thread with some fixes I made. Next episode (and last for now): Anne. Let me know if I should continue posting edits from time to time. #BuffyHD
Of course, I can't fix cropping or Digital Noise Reduction. What do you think? The timing would be perfect for Disney to create a brand new remaster (in 4K?)! #BuffyHD
If you haven't seen it yet, don't miss Passion of the Nerd's video, who we collaborated with. #BuffyHD

While we were unable to get a new remaster from Fox/Disney, we are happy to have had the honor of speaking with members of the original team. Thank you to them and to you, who have followed us for a decade. @stevendeknight @Ferchland @brianwankum #BuffyHD

Our hopes that the last four seasons would be more polished after the backlash were unfortunately not fulfilled. The best we got was a few corrected shots in the episode 'Angel' (1x07) and a few others here and there. #BuffyHD 👇

DNR, reframing, upscaling, brightness/color issues... Everything you need to know about the first three seasons. #BuffyHD 👇
We’ve since learned that @illuminateHLWD was supposed to take on the remastering of the TV show after completing The X-Files, but instead Fox outsourced it to a studio we never identified. #BuffyHD 👇
Additionally, the talented director of photography Michael Gershman passed away in 2018, cutting off any chance of him working on another attempt at a respectful high-definition version. He told us : "It's a shame to have all of my work thrown in the garbage." #BuffyHD👇
