#BugomaForest has been handed over to UWA by the RT Hon. Prime Minister Robinah Nabbanja at Kibuube HQ. She said that all encroachers must be evicted without compensation.
Boaz Bsigirenda Range commander said that over 364 illegal activity cases have been reported in #BugomaForest since 2016. Addressing the Prime Minister and the handover team, he supported the forestโs handover to UWA as a step toward stronger conservation for future generations.
The Commissioner @MTWAUganda George Owoyesigire, has emphasized that the handover does not take away community relations. UWA will support community members who officially write and request for access to resources in Bugoma Central Forest Reserve like firewood etc.

Two suspects caught cutting trees and burning charcoal have been arrested on the first day of the UWA's takeover of the management of #BugomaForest.
UWA rangers also impounded a truck loaded with charcoal as authorities intensified enforcement operations.
