Rashidun #CaliphOmar Ibn el Khattab asked one of his armies commanders Abu Ubaidah if the battle of #Yarmuk will be won or not against #Byzantium. It was taking time. The Caliph's major concern was #Jerusalem. He won't be able to conquer it without a victory in Yarmuk. Critical

Early spring 636 AD #CaliphOmar asked top commander #KhalidIbnelWalid 2 move north towards Syria & Mesopotamia fast as tribes were impatient & could start infighting in Hejaz & Najd. Khalid said he didn't have enough troops 2 fight Byzantines & Persians on 2 fronts simultaneously
