I get that you want to forget all the transfers you and all Canadian premiers have received, particularly for education and healthcare (though the list is much longer).
I get that you want Albertans to stand on your side against the federal government, to get funding without needing to show how you spend it & to abolish the senate.
I get that you fully understand a lot more than you tell your followers at town halls about equalization payments. You brag about the higher incomes and economic activity in Alberta. But you leave out that equalization goes only to provinces with lower fiscal capacity, and you tell them it’s unfair.
I get that you leave out how much tax payers’ money the UCP and yourself have recklessly wasted, like Alberta’s upcoming non binding referendum.
You fully know the UCP could more efficiently fund services including for the immigrants and non residents that you want to blame. And that you’ve conveniently “forgotten” that you wanted to double Alberta’s population. (January 2024, Shaun Newman’s Podcast )
And I get that you would never admit to having made a mistake in pushing most AISH recipients into your new ADAP program, cutting their monthly payments by $400 by 2027, when they were already below the poverty line. (As well as cutting funding to low income seniors)
