Ciara says wait does Ben want his coat and Ben says no he won’t be gone for too long and it looks like the rain passed so it’s good news for the trick or treaters heading out tonight and shuts the door. Ciara throws Ben’s jacket back onto the couch and the vial falls out and Ciara picks it up and asks what the hell is this and smells it. Rafe asks what is it does Haley mean intentionally and Haley says they tested for salmonella and botulism and there were no signs of anything like that but… there were traces of cyanide in his blood and Jordan flashes back the putting the contents of the vial in the cupcake. Jordan comes out do the flashback and Rafe says the only thing he ate today was that cupcake and looks at Jordan and says the cupcake that Jordan made him so if he got sick so should of everyone else and Jordan looks around “dumbfounded”. Jordan says she feels totally fine and free says great does she have any idea how cyanide got into his cupcake and Jordan says no she’s just as shocked as Rafe is and JJ asks is it possible something got in Rafe’s got mixed up with the ingredients because a lot of people keep cleaners in the kitchen and they get a ton of calls because kids pull things out from under the sink but Rafe says no he babyproofed his place when David moved in. Haley asks Rafe is absolutely that there’s no cyanide anywhere else like… she doesn’t know like a case Rafe worked on and Rafe says no not a chance but wait Ciara left the party early because she wasn’t feeling well did she get poisoned too and Jordan says n— after JJ took Rafe to the hospital she called Ben and checked on Ciara and she’s fine and Rafe says okay well they still have no idea how cyanide got into his system then and asks Jordan isn’t she worried about David. Ben walks back into the gatehouse and Ben says he checked the house and the grounds everything looks safe the only thing that worries him is that Stefano’s portrait is still missing who the hell could’ve taken it and looks at Ciara holding the vial. Ben asks what’s that and Ciara says actually she was hoping Ben could tell her and Ben says looks like and vial and Ciara says yeah and it just fell out of his coat pocket. Ben says he’s never seen this before and Ciara asks so Ben hasn’t been carrying it around and Ben says no and Ciara says well after she tossed his coat down it just fell out of his pocket. Ben holds up the vial and says he doesn’t know what it is or was it’s almost gone and Ciara says she wonders how it ended up in his pocket and Ben continues looking at the vial and at Ciara. Jordan says well if anything was wrong with David the sitter would’ve called her right away and Rafe says well the sitter isn’t a doctor and Jordan says right but Rafe was at the party David didn’t even eat his cupcake he just smeared the icing everywhere. Rafe says still he thinks Jordan should check on David and Jordan says of course she’s just trying not to be one of those moms that overreacts to everything and Rafe says Jordan’s not but he does think she should go check on her son if David’s acting even the slightest bit off she should bring him right away. Jordan says okay she feels bad to leave Rafe there but Rafe says no he’s fine and like Haley said the doctor might not be here for a while so… and Haley says right and they won’t release Rafe until the doctor gives him the all clear. Jordan says okay she’ll go and takes Rafe’s hand and says she’s so glad he’s feeling better and Rafe says yeah him too and Jordan leaves. Rafe says JJ’s awfully quiet what’s up and JJ says he was watching Rafe with Jordan something’s bothering him he can tell and Rafe says he doesn’t want to think it what if Jordan poisoned the cupcake on purpose. JJ asks Rafe thinks Jordan poisoned him and Rafe says no he doesn’t wanna believe that but… and JJ says Rafe heard everything Jordan had to say and is grateful for everything Rafe did for her why would she try to hurt him and Rafe says he doesn’t think Jordan wanted to hurt him but Jordan’s done some really bad things man and she almost killed Ciara at the cabin and JJ says and blamed it on her brother. Rafe says who was also at the party Jordan has not want Ben to be around David at all and then there he was and JJ says she just invited him to the party it seems fishy man Rafe doesn’t think David’s in danger does he and Rafe says no he doesn’t but he would definitely feel a lot better if JJ went over to his place you know kept an eye on him and JJ says sure maybe he can do a little snooping see if he can find the cyanide and Rafe says that would be great thanks man keep him posted. JJ says he will and stands up and Rafe says seriously let him know what’s going on he’s gonna be waiting for his call and JJ says Rafe’s got it and Rafe thanks JJ and JJ leaves. Rafe grabs his phone and dials and Ciara’s phone rings and says Rafe hi and Rafe says he just wanted to see how Ciara’s feeling and Ciara says much better actually Jordan just called Ben to ask the same question and Rafe asks is Ben there. Ciara says yeah hang on she’ll put him on speaker and Ben says hey Rafe and Rafe says hey man how did Jordan sound when she called and Ben says fine he thought it was nice of her to follow up with them since they left the party early. Rafe says yeah… what else did Jordan say and Ben says not much Jordan was glad that Ciara was feeling better and he thanked her for having them over and that was pretty much it. Rafe says okay great well he’s glad to hear that he’s glad no one else got poisoned and Ben asks “POISONED” and Ciara asks what happened is he okay and Rafe says yeah he’s fine now but right after Cin left at the party um… he got severe abdominal cramps, doubled over, fell down, Jordan called the ambulance and they pumped his stomach and it turns out he had… cyanide in his system but he can’t believe Jordan didn’t tell Ben that when she spoke to him. Ben looks at Ciara and says no not a word and Rafe asks what time did Jordan call and Ben grabs his phone and says it was 5:08 and Rafe says well after they took him to the hospital. Ciara asks why didn’t Jordan say anything and Rafe says good question and Ciara says um Rafe there’s actually something else she should probably tell him and Ben takes the phone from Ciara and says yeah they’re glad that he’s doing okay and hangs up and Ciara asks why did Ben do that and Ben looks at Ciara. Haley stands at the nurse’s desk and JJ walks up to her and says hey and Haley says hey you she’s almost done and JJ says something’s come up that he has to take care of and Haley asks is everything good and JJ says yeah he thinks so he’ll catch up with her at the house in a bit and Haley says she can’t wait and JJ leaves. Ciara asks why did Ben hang up on Rafe and Ben says he just—he needs a minute to think and Ciara says okay she doesn’t know what’s going on here all she knows is it isn’t a coincidence that Rafe’s was poisoned tonight AND they found this vial in Ben’s pocket and Ben says if Ciara thinks he hurt Rafe— and Ciara says no babe no of course not she doesn’t but maybe Jordan did. Ben says that’s what he thought but it doesn’t make any sense Jordan cares about Rafe why would she try and kill him and Ciara says maybe for the same reason Jordan tried to kill her… she’s trying to set Ben up but Ben says no that’s not it they—they agreed to make a fresh start she invited them over to David’s birthday party and Ciara says which may have been to put this vial in Ben’s coat pocket… look this isn’t the first time that Jordan’s planted evidence to try and set him up remember her cell phone—Jordan put her cell phone and Charlotte’s baby blanket in Ben’s motel room and Ben says he knows all signs point to Jordan but they also did when that car almost hit Ciara they jumped to conclusions they jumped to judgement and it wasn’t her. Ciara asks okay well who else could’ve done this and Ben says he doesn’t know but he doesn’t think they can assume it was Jordan until they have all the facts listen let him take the vial to the hospital he’s gonna get the contents or whatever’s left of it tested they’ll find out Ciara does not open or answer the door for anybody until he gets home and Ciara says expect for Will and Sonny and Ari they’re her over later to trick or treat and Ben says fine but if Jordan shows up Ciara does not let her in okay he needs to keep her safe and Ciara kisses Ben and says be safe too okay and Ben says okay and leaves. Ben walks off the hospital elevator and sees Haley and says he assumes she heard what happened to Rafe and Haley says yeah it’s crazy and Ben says yeah before he goes in to see Rafe could he ask a favor of her and takes the vial out and asks could she test what’s in there and tell him if it’s the poison that was inside of Rafe’s system. Haley takes the vial and asks where did Ben get it and Ben says he’d rather explain once he knows what it is and Haley says yeah yeah sure she’ll take it the lab and Rafe’s in 302 and Ben says 302 this way okay and walks away. Rafe on the phone says hey Will it’s Rafe he’s assuming he’s with Sonny and Ari and they’re out trick or treating just wanted to give him an update he ended up at the hospital after eating what looks like a poisoned cupcake he’s okay but uh just wanted to make sure they’re okay so please just call him when he gets it okay thanks and hangs up. Ben knocks on the door and asks how’s Rafe feeling and Rafe says he’s feeling great outside of the fact that Ben hung up on him what’s up with that and Ben says he’s sorry he’s just been really freaked out about this whole thing he… he really doesn’t want to believe that Jordan’s involved and Rafe says yeah but Ben agrees it’s suspicious that Jordan didn’t tell Ben he was sick when she spoke to him. Ben says like he told Ciara they jumped to conclusions about Jordan before and they were won’t but she doesn’t think they should make any more assumptions until they know all the facts. Rafe asks what facts is Ben talking about and Ben says he’s sure they’ll know more soon and Rafe asks what the hell is Ben keeping from him and Ben asks him and Rafe says yeah Ben’s obviously keeping something from him he almost died tonight and if Ben’s withholding information spill. Ben sits down and groans and says Ciara found a vial in his coat pocket tonight he has no clue what is is he’s never seen it before he came to the hospital and has Haley checking the contents of it right now it’s being tested he has no idea what it is. Rafe asks but Ben thinks Jordan planted it and that it had cyanide in it and Ben says he wants to give his sister the benefit of the doubt but yeah he’s starting to think she might’ve just fooled all of them: Jordan’s still dangerous and she’s determined to take him down. David’s in his carrier and Jordan scrubs the counter and says her sweet boy she’s so sorry she really thought this was the perfect plan: Ciara would eat the poisoned cupcake and she would plant the poison in Ben’s coat and then he would go away for murder and take care of the both of them and knows Rafe suspects her if he figures out what she did they’re gonna put her away and she cannot have that the walls are closing in so they’ve gotta get out of there before they can trace any of this back to her and puts the cupcake plate in the trash. Jordan says alright they gotta get outta here so she’s gonna go pack a few things and grabs the trash and says and they’ll be on their way. Jordan looks at David and says it really was the perfect plan, somehow it got ruined and runs out of the kitchen. Ciara peeks through the door window and unlocks it and WilSon say trick or treat and Ciara says hi guys come on in oh my gosh Ari her costume is so beautiful and shuts the door. Ciara grabs a bowl and says here is her candy you sweet girl and puts two handfuls in Arianna’s bag and says some extra and Arianna says thank you. Sonny talks to Arianna as Ciara takes Will to the other side of the room and asks so Arianna’s okay and Will says uh yeah she’s fine why and Ciara says okay long story short Rafe ended up in the hospital because he ate poisoned cupcake at David’s birthday party and Will says WHAT Ciara’s serious and Ciara says yeah. Will says Rafe left him a message but he hasn’t had a chance to listen to it is he okay and Ciara says yeah the doctors say that he’s gonna be fine but it was cyanide and they think Jordan may be responsible. Will asks Ciara’s serious and Ciara says yes but it’s really important to Ben that they don’t rush to judgment he’s really upset about this and Will says he doesn’t get this why would Jordan want to hurt Rafe and Ciara says yeah it doesn’t make sense to them either it would be different if the cupcake was meant for her or if it was meant for Ben— and Will says oh my… he knows what happened. Ciara looks back at Sonny and Arianna on the couch and Will says Ari… told them that Jordan yelled at her because she gave David the wrong cupcake and Ciara asks meaning what and Will says well he didn’t think it was big deal at the time but Ari switched the names on the cupcakes because she wanted the girls to have more frosting and Ciara softly gasps and says so the cupcake meant for her must’ve ended up with Rafe’s name on it and Will says exactly. Ciara says which means Jordan was trying to kill HER and not Rafe and gasps. Ben says when Jordan invited them to David’s party… he was so happy he means he knew they weren’t gonna be one big happy family right away but it just… felt like… felt like a real breakthrough man but here he is terrified that Jordan is still sick and she’s still dangerous and Rafe says he asked JJ to go over to his place and check on David. Ben asks Rafe doesn’t think Jordan would hurt her son and after a moment Rafe says no he… he doesn’t but… and Ben says if Jordan’s cornered there’s no telling what she might do and Ben says he needs to find his sister before she does any more damage and says he’s glad Rafe’s okay and takes Rafe’s hand for a moment and Rafe says thanks man and Ben leaves. JJ walks in Rafe’s and sees David’s carrier on the table and peeks in and says hey little man alright he’s not sure what David’s mom is up to but he’s gonna be safe he’s gonna get him out of there and starts to pick up the carrier and is whacked in the back of the head by Jordan’s purse and falls to the floor and Jordan hits JJ again and says no one taking her child away from her SHE IS NOT THE THREAT BEN IS and after tonight everyone is gonna know that starting with Ciara and grabs David’s carrier and a bag and leaves and JJ is facedown unconscious. In Jarlena’s townhouse, Marlena lays on John and says she was a little more concerned about Jordan’s turnaround about her brother: in one moment she was insistent he was a threat and a danger and the next moment she… couldn’t wait to reconcile with him. Haley knocks on Rafe’s door and asks has Rafe seen Ben and Rafe says he took off but told him she was testing whatever was in that vial and Haley says yeah she has results and Rafe asks and. Haley says the vial contains cyanide the same poison they found in Rafe’s system. Ben rapidly knocks on Rafe’s house door and says JORDAN and knocks again and asks is she there and knocks again opening the door and sees JJ on the floor and asks JJ and starts shaking JJ and says JJ WAKE UP and looks to the door and says JJ WAKE UP. Ciara thanks Will for helping her figure all this out and Will asks does Ciara want to like come with them tonight and Ciara says thank you but she promised Ben she’d keep the doors locked and if Jordan shows up before he comes back she’ll just call for help and she should probably be checking up on Rafe right now so… and Will says yeah well just keep him posted please and Ciara says she will. Will walks back over to Arianna and Sonny and says OKAY candy monsters what do they say they get out of there and Sonny softly says okay nice seeing Ciara and Ciara says yeah so nice seeing them bye have fun out there. Will says bye and looks back at Ciara and softly says be safe and Ciara nods shutting the door and locking it and sighs leaning against it. Ciara sees Arianna’s crown on the couch and says Ari’s crown and grabs it as a knock a the door and without looking Ciara unlocks the door and says can’t forget this but it’s Jordan with David and Ciara says Jordan what the hell is she doing there and Jordan stares at Ciara.

Rafe and Hope in the interrogation room and Hope takes Ben’s file from Rafe and Rafe says there’s nothing new and Hope says the list of people that wanna see Weston back behind bars is as long as her arm could’ve been any one of them who planted the evidence she found and Rafe says he and Hope are both in that list. Hope says okay Shawn says there’s concrete proof that Ben’s fingerprint was transferred onto the can but the question is… where did the print come from and Rafe says that’s a good question see he doesn’t think that anyone’s gonna sneak up on Ben and grab a print but Ben’s prints are on file at the station and Hope asks if Rafe is saying that a cop could’ve done this and Rafe says yeah that’s what he’s saying. Rafe says a lot of cops were frustrated when Ben walked and Hope says not as frustrated as her but she didn’t do it, Rafe didn’t do it, doesn’t seem like something Eli or Lani would do and Lani was on the work final manhunt for Ben and Rafe says yeah when JJ was her partner and Hope asks *JJ* he doesn’t even work as a cop anymore and Rafe says JJ’s an EMT they’re in a lot giving statements, JJ knew how to access fingerprints and let’s not forget that Ben murdered his girlfriend and Hope says Rafe’s right JJ would know how to access prints and Rafe says so JJ had means, motive, opportunity… but would he go so far as to plant evidence. JJ is with Abigail and his phone beeps and says it’s Hope she and Rafe want to see go. And Abigail asks what about and JJ says beats him but he has to go. JJ’s in the interrogation room with Rafe and Hope and asks if they’re serious they really think he planted that can to frame Ben and Rafe says no one’s accusing JJ of anything and Hope says they’re questioning anyone who might’ve had access and motive and JJ says that’s gonna be a long list and he’s at the top of it right and Rafe says well he doesn’t think JJ can argue that he had a strong motive for wanting Ben back behind bars and JJ says Rafe’s absolutely right but he swears he didn’t do it and Hope says she believes JJ it’s procedure he knows they have to cover all bases. JJ says it’s good what bugs him is whoever planted the can wanted to put Ben away but they just made things worse now Ben’s free and clear. Hope and Rafe walk back into the interrogation room and Rafe says they should questioned who lost friends and loved ones because of Ben: Eve Donovan, Sonny, Lucas, Chad, especially Abigail and Hope says interview them all and Rafe says okay and Hope says she has this gut feeling they’re missing something and Rafe says alright we’ll he will start by setting up appointments with everyone who wanted to see Ben behind bars. Lani says this is not on Julie and she doesn’t run other people’s lives, she fights for her family and Julie asks what’s the difference but Lani says it’s a big one: Claire is gonna appreciate having someone as tough as Julie in her corner. Doug points to Lani and says well said and Lani slowly hugs Julie. While everyone watches fireworks in the Square, Rafe asks Hope remember when they pulled Ciara from the burning cabin and Hope says of course and Rafe says it never crossed his mind that it was Claire and Hope shakes her head and says her neither. Rafe says he’s sorry and Hope knows. Doug and Julie comfort Hope Julie taking Hope’s hands and Doug hugging her while JJ and Haley watch the fireworks and JJ asks if Haley is alright and Haley nods she’s not afraid of Eve anymore and JJ says just with the news about Claire: she tried to kill Haley and Tripp too and Haley says yeah but Claire didn’t.

Ciara pulls away and says Ben really shouldn’t be there and asks what if Claire was there and Ben says he saw Claire was headed to the Pub with Shawn and knew he was safe. Ben presses his forehead against Ciara’s and says he missed Ciara so much and Ciara says she missed Ben too and Cin kiss. JJ says it’s horrible what Ben did to him and Tripp says he’s a psycho like JJ said but JJ doesn’t understand it: if Ben hated Tripp for everything that went down with Ciara why would he wait so long to go after him and Tripp says he just wants whoever is guilty to get what they deserve. JJ asks “whoever is guilty” Ben is guilty police caught him won’t the lighter in his hand and Tripp says right. JJ says he’s never been a fan of Eve especially after the way she went after Haley brainwashed his father but he’s with her on this Ben needs to stay locked up and is the only way to keep Ciara safe. Ciara says it’s not safe if someone sees Ben they’ll know she’s been lying and Ben shakes his head that he hates it and hates the idea of her and Tripp pretending to be together to set Claire off and hates all of it. Ciara says they have to get a confession out of Claire and is the only way to clear Ben. Ben asks if Ciara understands how dangerous Claire is right now and Ciara triggering Claire’s jealousy when Claire’s literally tried to kill people twice because of it and Ciara says yeah okay well what are the supposed to do just let Claire get away with it. Ben sighs and says it isn’t his style but he thinks they should go to the cops tell them what Claire did and Ciara says without any hard evidence linking Claire to the arsons it’s not gonna work and will never get arrested. Ben says there’s gotta be a way to bust Claire without Ciara intentionally setting her off and opens the door as Ciara says she and Tripp have it worked out and know exactly the way to trigger Claire into confessing. Ben shuts the door and asks when is it gonna happen and Ciara says tonight right there. Ben can’t let Ciara do this and already almost lost Ciara once and if anything were to happen to her and Ciara knows she doesn’t want to lose Ben either but she has to do this to get the charges against Ben dropped and is the plot way they can be finally be together. Ciara pushes Ben toward the door that he needs to leave before Claire comes home and says please just trust her. Ben says he got his cellphone back from th police and asks Ciara will call him and Ciara says as soon as she can. Ben says please be careful and Ciara says she will and pushes Ben against the door and says now go. Ben walks Cin away from
the door and kisses Ciara and Claire walks in as Cin jump away. Ciara shoves Ben HARD to get the hell away from her and Claire asks what is Ben doing here and Ciara says Ben pushed his way in when she answered the door. Ben plays along that he can explain to her, just give him— and Claire says if Ben does not get the hell out of there right now she’s gonna call the cops. Ciara says go and Ben says he’s going and Ciara says don’t he come near her ever again. Ben leaves without a word and Claire slams the door shut hard behind him. Claire says thank God Claire walked in when she did and is so afraid of what might’ve happened and Claire hugs Ciara that it’s okay Ciara is safe with her to Ciara’s disgust. Ben approaches Eve and Shawn outside the Pub and Shawn asks what the hell is Ben doing out of jail and Eve groans Judge granted bail and Shawn asks HOW. Ben says have to ask Justin and Shawn says do not go into the Pub and isn’t welcome there and do him a favor and stay away from his sister. Ben says Ciara can make her own choices and Shawn says at least now Ciara knows what Ben is capable of and if he goes anywhere near his sister he’s gonna take care of Ben himself. Shawn walks away and Eve says the Judge may have granted him bail but he’s not gonna be walking the streets much longer because she’s got all the evidence she needs to build an airtight case against him and Ben says so Eve said. Eve hopes Ciara is sitting front and center in that courthouse the day he’s found guilty because she wants Ben to feel the pain of losing someone he loves just like she did when Ben took her daughter away from her. Ciara fake smiles and thanks Claire for listening to her vent about Ben and Claire is glad Ciara finally see Ben for who he really is and Ciara says she can recognize a dangerous lying psychopath when she sees one. Claire says the good thing about it is it’ll help Ciara get over Ben faster and Ciara says she already is and Claire is so happy for Ciara and just wishes she could say the same about her and Tripp. Ciara asks if Tripp is there right now and Ciara says no she assumes he is at work and Claire asks really his shift ended a couple hours ago so he should be home by now. Ciara asks if Claire is keeping tabs on Tripp and Claire says no but they both work at the cafe so she knows his schedule but also thinks Tripp’s avoiding her and it just really sucks that he won’t give her another chance. Ciara says she knows but Claire needs to let it go but Claire doesn’t know how and Ciara says it’s gonna take some time but Claire really needs to take care of herself and looks pretty exhausted. Claire says these past couple of days have been very exhausting and feels very wiped out and Ciara says Claire should probably get some rest and things will look brighter in the morning. Claire says Ciara is right and she’s gonna go get some rest and stop obsessing over Tripp and thanks Ciara hugging her and is so glad they’re close again. Ciara says her too and they take care of each other right and Claire agrees before going to her room. Ciara walks over to the counter and pulls a lighter out smiling to herself. Tripp walks into the loft and says looks like Ciara’s already got the ball rolling and Ciara shushes Tripp that Claire’s just gone to bed and caught her with Ben but she covered. Tripp asks Ben’s out of jail and Ciara says yeah for now and tried to talk her out of the plan that it might be dangerous and Tripp says now knowing what Claire’s capable of Ben’s not wrong and asks how did Ciara get out of it. Ciara says she pushed Ben away and made it look like he was forcing himself on her and Tripp says thankfully Ciara has him to help her pick up the pieces right and Ciara says Claire is gonna completely lose it when she catches them together and Tripp says hopefully confess to starting those fires. Ciara says this time they’ll be the ones recording her pulling out her phone. Ben says there’s nothing he can do to take back what he did to Paige but he can’t let her pin an arson on him that he didn’t commit and Eve says well it’s a good thing Ben did it now isn’t it and Ben says Claire’s the one who’s started those fires and Eve says oh my God here they go again. Ben asks Eve really wants to protect Salem then she needs to have Claire arrested right now and Eve says Ben is shameless: she’s got a kerosene can and a lighter with his fingerprints all over it, a cop who caught Ben at the scene of the crime, and now his precious Ciara she thinks Ben’s guilty too so looks like Ben’s lost everything. Ben says Claire the one who started those fires and we’re gonna prove it and Eve asks who’s this “we” and Ben says he was talking about him and his lawyer they’re gonna prove his innocence and asks what did Eve think he meant. Eve doesn’t know but he and Justin don’t have to prove anything and the burden of proof falls on the prosecution and she’s confident there’s enough evidence there to get a conviction and Ben says he guesses they’ll see about that and leaves. Ciara starts recording on her phone with her in a negligée and Tripp down to his underpants and Tripp picks up the lighter saying nice touch. Ciara says anything to provoke Claire even more and asks if Tripp is ready. Tripp stands on a chair and ignites the lighter until the smoke detector goes off and runs to the couch getting under the blanket with Ciara. Ciara leans on Tripp’s shoulder and Claire comes running out asking what it that noise and freezes asking what is going on and gasps.

To Claire’s relief, Eli is unable to connect her lighter to the fire that almost killed Ciara and Eli gives the lighter back to JJ. JJ can’t shake the feeling that it’s the same lighter and was so sure Ben left it at the loft and they finally had him. Claire takes the lighter back and tells Eve the cops couldn’t connect it to the fire and returned it. Claire says she doesn’t care about a lighter when her whole life it going up in flames and Eve says that’s a bad choice of words. Eve tells Claire to get the jealousy thing under control because last time she almost killed Ciara and Claire says it was one time and she’s not a crazy lunatic and won’t happen ever again. Eve warns Claire she’s not going to get away with it again.

Kayla asks JJ if he talked to Claire about the lighter and JJ says he did and she freaked out. Claire spirals with Eve. Eve realizes Claire started the fire and Claire tearfully admits it. Eli approaches Ciara and Ben before they leave the Square about the fire. Eve promises to protect Claire. Eli tells Cin the case has been reopened due to Jordan’s denial and Ciara questions why would Jordan be believed and Eli says they have no reason to believe she’s lying. Ciara says just because Jordan didn’t set the fire doesn’t mean Ben did and there’s no evidence so maybe they should just leave Ben alone and Eli says JJ brought him a lighter found at the loft similar to the one Ben used to set fire the cabin that Claire had. Eli says Claire says she found it laying around and Ben did stay at the loft for a while and Ciara sarcastically asks Ben kept the lighter as some freaky souvenir and Ben says it’s not his. Eli wants Ciara to come to station and takes a look at it and Ben says let’s go but Eli wants Ciara to come alone. Ben asks if Eli thinks he’s going to influence her. Ben wants to be there if Eli’s going to accuse him and Ciara says it’s okay because they both know he didn’t set the fire so whatever they have is bogus. Ciara leaves with Eli. At the station, Eli shows Ciara the lighter and Ciara flashes back to Ben holding the lighter when she first woke up. Claire asks Eve if she’s going to turn her into the police and Eve says of course not and knows Claire’s heart and promises while she couldn’t protect Paige, she will protect her. Eve says someone has to go down for the fire and she’s going to make sure Ben takes the fall. Ciara looks at the lighter and says she’s not sure but then says it kind of looks a lot like the one she saw Ben use but it doesn’t prove anything because she knows Ben didn’t do it.
