This issue of delayed info last night is getting a lot of attention today. (See mayor's statement during press conference)
We were strung along for hours at the scene and then around 10:30 an SPD spokesperson came out to delay the briefing even further. This was the full interaction we had.
Police had released nothing up to this point other than there was a shooting with multiple victims. We now know there was a briefing for leaders at 9pm. It took 2 hours from that point for them to get to Seattle Center and speak to the media. FWIW, Brian is a very good police public information officer who I respect a great deal. SPD 100% could have given us basic info prior to the 11pm press conference when all the politicians arrived.
