@applebyj @BoobBoo @michele_donna @IBMDb2 @db2performance That's DB2 for ya. I still think in terms of GBs😉. In fact, I've just realised that, from our 30+ @SAP instances, only ERP Production runs into TBs. Even BW is less than 1TB under #DB2BLU. I must've done something right over the years.

TBH, it was the scale of 'some additional cost' that shocked me and drove me down the route of #DB2BLU and INTRA_PARALLEL.

@applebyj @Oracle @SQLServer @Microsoft @IBM Everyone would applaud @SAP simplifying it's data model. I've seen the impact of removing indexes myself on BW on #DB2BLU, and we're now speaking with IBM about accelerating CO-PA at near-zero cost.
TBH, for my business, in times of austerity, evolution trumps revolution.
@applebyj @Oracle @SQLServer Therein lies SAP's dilemma. We migrated BW to #DB2BLU, gained huge performance and storage benefits, at a cost (RAM and consultancy) £7,000.
To migrate BW to HANA, the hardware alone was quoted at £700,000, and the project plan ran into months.
