Poseidon came to us as part of an active court case alongside two other dogs. While we can't share the details, we can tell you this: Poseidon is a hero. He saved not only himself, but the two dogs who came in with him, who have since been adopted. Now, Poseidon is left behind, still waiting. It would be heartbreaking for his story to end here. Poseidon is 3 years old, weighs about 54 pounds, and is everything you could hope for in a companion. He's affectionate, gentle, playful, house trained, neutered, and heartworm negative. He absolutely loves people. It's almost 11:00 AM, and no one has asked about him. We've extended these deadlines twice, but time has run out. Poseidon and the other 18 dogs urgently need placement today, whether that's through foster or adoption. We are extending their deadline one final time, meaning they need someone at the shelter for them when we open at 11AM tomorrow. Each of these dogs are known and loved. They are valued. Euthanasia is never an outcome we desire, and our team has worked tirelessly this week and in weeks' past to find placement for our urgent dogs. We're exhausted, and we know you are too. These dogs have great potential to thrive outside of the shelter. All they need is someone to open up their homes.
