"Care destroyed two small dog farms in a matter of hours.
-The pack inside the cage watched as the mother escaped and died.-
The mother ran away from the cage.
But "Sangnanda" was dispatched with 119, and three shots of muscle relaxants were fired, not anesthesia.
The mother collapsed.
Still breathing, the mother was thrown into a plastic bag and died alone without receiving any emergency treatment.
The puppies were left behind.
The children who had lived their whole lives inside the cage were used as bait to catch the mother who had escaped, and the child who knew he would die if he came out of the cage bit the owner's leg to survive. And then the severe beating....💔
But the more shocking fact is
the local government did not check if the farm had really improved after sending out a notice saying "Do not abuse animals." The barn remained the same, the sewage was the same, and the dogs' lives were the same.
Meanwhile, the owner said,
"I'm going to get rid of them all."
The response to the administrative order to stop the abuse was a threat to get rid of the animals.
However, the practice of actually accepting their words, rather than actively isolating or protecting them, continued.
Care rushed to the dog farm, which had been reported and processed.
Care activists who drove to the rainy Chongeong area quickly persuaded the owner on the spot, and all the dogs from the first dog farm were given up. The owner promised never to raise dogs again and to tear down the barn.
And while checking the surrounding area, they found another small dog farm.
A tilted sink. Garbage and mold that had not been cleaned for a long time. The floor was so dirty that your feet would slip through the bars. Reproduction and slaughterhouse sales were still taking place there.
Care was persuasive there as well, and all the dogs were given up.
The children are now in Care's protective space."

Boshintang alley empties as Korea's #DogMeat ban nears
July 15, 2026 - by .@sedaily_com
📰https://t.co/GNd6G6gwPK
Shinjin Market in Jongno-gu, Seoul, around noon on the 14th, a day before Chobok, the first of Korea's dog days of summer. The boshintang (dog meat soup) restaurants, which owners say used to draw crowds every dog day, had only about half of their roughly ten tables occupied. A man in his 70s, identified as A, who came to a restaurant with friends, pointed to the empty seats nearby and said, "In the past it was hard to even find a seat, but today there are more empty tables than full ones." He added, "Since I was young, I've come here for a bowl every dog day," and, "Since they say it can't be sold starting next year, I deliberately made plans thinking this year might be the last."
As society's view of boshintang has shifted, even the remaining customers are visiting less. B, a customer in his 80s, said, "Times have changed, so I understand banning it by law," adding, "My children and grandchildren try to stop me, and I'm cautious about even mentioning to those around me that I'm going to eat boshintang." He also noted, "These days, some people say they worry that an acquaintance might see them going into the restaurant."......

Empty streets and restaurants at #MoranMarket signal end of #DogMeat era

A heat wave gripped Korea on Monday, two days before "chobok," traditionally believed to be the beginning of the hottest days of summer, but Moran Market in Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province, was nearly empty. The market, once a hub for traditional summer dishes, is seeing a quiet final season before the landmark dog meat ban takes full effect on Feb. 7, 2027. Dog meat was once considered one of the most restorative foods for combating summer lethargy.
About 10 specialty restaurants sat mostly empty, with few customers and almost no foot traffic.....

⚡PROTEST
IN FRONT OF THE OSAKA CHINESE CONSULATE GENERAL ON JUNE 19TH, 2026⚡
"This was the 36th protest against animal(cat) cruelty in China, but this time, on June 19th, 2026, we held a protest demanding the immediate closure of the Yulin Dog and Cat Meat Festival, which is scheduled to begin on June 21st.
I have been personally protesting against the consumption of dog and cat meat in China and the Yulin Dog and Cat Meat Festival since around 2021, before FG Japan was even established. The issue of dog and cat meat consumption in China, which seemed like it would never end, has seen a significant change in China’s actions in the last few years, giving us a glimmer of hope and great expectations
- The voices of lawmakers calling for the advocacy of animal protection and animal welfare laws have become more concrete and louder,
- and despite the fact that even protests are suppressed in China, animal rights activists took the risk to hold a demonstration against animal cruelty with over 200 people.
- Following that, in Yulin, a city of approximately 7 million people whose economy is supported by the dog and cat meat industry, there was the first instance of “support for conversion to a dog slaughterhouse and its complete closure.”
In light of the situation in China up until now, these events, which could be called miracles, have been happening one after another in a short period of time.
While many continue to lament the dilemma that “it’s absurd that a law still hasn’t been enacted!”, for us, it can be said that a series of miracles are happening.
Our Osaka team has been protesting to Chinese authorities earlier and more frequently than any other country or region, and has already mailed more than 40 demanding letters to the Chinese government.
While this is nothing to boast about, we truly feel that our persistent efforts have paid off. While many people and countries that were once active have given up, we at FG Japan have persevered and continued our monthly protests, and we want to believe that the day is fast approaching when we can be proud of that.
We want to stop this year’s Yulin festival."

Jakarta cracks down on restaurant suspected of serving #DogMeat

Authorities in Indonesia’s capital have taken action against a restaurant in West Jakarta suspected of continuing to serve dog meat, as the city steps up enforcement of a regulation banning the trade and consumption of animals that can transmit rabies.
Officials from the West Jakarta Food Security, Maritime Affairs and Agriculture Agency (KPKP) and the municipal public order agency (Satpol PP) inspected a restaurant in Cengkareng on Wednesday after finding indications that it was still selling dog meat dishes.
During the inspection, officers collected samples of cooked meat for laboratory testing to verify the type of meat being served. The results will determine whether further legal action is taken....

"🫂 We are launching the [One More Child Fund]. 🫂
Schindler, who saved countless Jewish lives, wept at the end and said:
"I could have saved just one more."
With just over 250 days remaining until the end of dog meat consumption,
CARE shares the same sentiment.
One more child.
That is why we are launching this fund.
For 27 years, CARE has fought most powerfully at the forefront to end dog meat consumption.
We opened the doors of slaughterhouses,
brought the reality of dog farms to the world,
rescued countless dogs intended for consumption,
and finally brought about the historic change of ending dog meat consumption.
However, just because the law has changed does not mean all the dogs will live.
There are still dogs remaining in dog farms waiting to be rescued.
The dogs already rescued for consumption require treatment, rehabilitation, and protection.
And even at this very moment, there are dogs at risk of being traded for food, sold, or sacrificed.
The <One More Child Fund> is used for the dogs from dog farms to be rescued in the future, for the treatment and rehabilitation of dogs already rescued for meat, and to rescue even one more dog at risk of disappearing for food.
Someday, dog meat consumption will disappear into history.
However, that history should be remembered not by laws, but by the number of lives saved—the number of dogs that will not have to die in the future.
We will remember how many dogs survived amidst that change.
And among those dogs, there will be one whom you saved.
❣️To save more dogs,
the <One More Child Fund> has special partners.
For every donation you send,
❗️the partner immediately donates an equal amount❗️
Your 10,000 won becomes 20,000 won,
and your determination to rescue moves toward twice as many dogs.
It is a matching fund that can turn 5 million won into 10 million won, and 20 million won into 40 million won.
At the final crossroads of the historic change of ending dog meat consumption,
we intend to choose action over regret.
"We could have saved even one more child."
To ensure that those words are never left behind."
"One more child."

#DogMeat Ban: what will happen to the dogs?
The answer is more complicated than many people realise.
June 16, 2026 - by .@DogDeskActioni
📰https://t.co/630Lrkoy8V
When South Korea’s National Assembly voted to ban the breeding, slaughter and sale of dogs for human consumption in January 2024, the decision was widely celebrated as a landmark victory for animal welfare. By February 2027, the dog meat industry will become illegal nationwide.
✅Financial Support for Farmers
The South Korean government has allocated funding to help businesses leave the trade. Compensation payments are available for farmers who surrender dogs and close their operations before the deadline. Support packages also include assistance for transitioning to alternative livelihoods.
✅Shelter and Adoption Programmes
Authorities have pledged to support rehoming efforts and expand shelter capacity. Government statements have repeatedly indicated that euthanasia is not intended to be the primary solution and that adoption should play a central role in managing the transition....

"🔥One of the slaughterhouses. CARE makes history again! 💥
Yesterday, CARE virtually shut down an illegal slaughter scene in Anseong.
In the secured photo, the goat that appears to have just been slaughtered, with its neck hanging from a rope and its axis stretched.
A place where all kinds of animals have been slaughtered by strangling for years estimated to be 40 years.
Care, who received the report and went to investigate the site, immediately consulted with Anseong City and took action to take immediate action.
There were snakes and ropes hanging from each tree, and the dogs were screaming and chewing the twisted food. The water bowl was full of Kenzo.
There were goats, rabbits, chickens and dogs on site, and a whole bag was found to catch a cat. Illegal capture and slaughtering of many species of animals has been carried out for decades.
CARE demanded the renunciation of ownership of all animals raised on site, and the slaughterhouse management couple wrote an ordinance stating that they renounce ownership of all animals in Anseong City.
CARE rescued all five dogs from the scene.
Regarding the remaining farm animals, Anseong City has reviewed ways to transfer the disposal to the existing owners due to lack of shelter space, but strongly demanded that care should not be treated as slaughter again as animals whose ownership has already been relinquished.
On Monday next week, humane protection and treatment measures will be in place to ensure that the remaining farm animals are once again subjected to human use and return to a life of slaughter.
Also CARE rescued 🐟 했습니다🐚 freshwater creatures that were left in the aquarium on site.
The carp, hawk, and freshwater shrimp were released to the nearby waters where they can live.
CARE is not just an organization for dogs and cats.
If an animal is neglected in pain, we rescue it without covering its species.
Dogs, cats, goats, rabbits, chickens, and even water creatures.
Everyone should be respected for who they are."
