The ‘Prospect of Whitby’ - A Home For Pirates, Scoundrels and Scallywags (57 #Wapping Wall, #London, #E1W) 🏴☠️🦜🍻
We were given exclusive access to the upstairs of one of #London's oldest and most famous pubs. The Prospect of Whitby is both a museum and a relic to Great #Britain. This was once one of the most dangerous places one could drink whichever side of the law you sat. A range of interesting people, both historic and contemporary, have drank within its walls. The Prospect, like a few other pubs, claims to be the oldest (Thames) Riverside pub in #London. We could have spoken about this pub and its history for hours, but narrowed it down to just under half an hour. Wapping wasn't only dangerous in the golden age of piracy, but it was a vital part of London's shipping trade during the lead up and the height of the British empire. These streets and the warehouses that are now expensive apartments were once the grotty and tough places that the dockers and light men of London endured day in, day out. We would like to thank the staff for facilitating us as it always makes things more special for us and, therefore, the viewer.

Britain's historic pubs are especially unique because they're packed with just as much historical relevance as that of cultural significance.

Part 2 -- The Dickens Inn - Marble Quay, St Katharine's Way, #StKatharineDocks, #London, #Wapping #England, #E1W 🚢
Video 2/2 [1080p] (Check linked post)
4k Full (You Tube) Vid linked Below
@ChelseaDan5 and myself (@VinnieSull1van) visited #Wapping to cover a well known pub among Londoners. We briefly cover the last few centuries of St Katharine Docks, to better explain as to how 'The Dickens Inn' came into existence. The Docks of #EastLondon were the centre of global wealth as well as being a catalyst for mass amounts of crime. You'll find the second part attached to this post or simply click on the YouTube link below to see the full video in high quality without interruption. Thank you all very much for the support and shares, we hope you'll subscribe on YouTube where you'll find a range of videos to choose from. 🤝🍻

The Spanish Tallship (#GaleonAndalusia) - St Catherine Docks, #Wapping, #London, #E1W
In this short film we discuss the life, death and memory of our Naval ancestors. 🎥 @ChelseaDan5

This replica is a beautiful yet scary insight into historical Naval warfare. This beast, like its #Portuguese siblings, terrorised the seas for many years. Britian was tried and tested againt fantastic #Navy's. Even the #Spanish Amarda wasn't thwarted in the fashion most think. We can only imagine the hardship and stories that took place amongst the storms and battles within the seven seas. No doubt, the sea bed hides a great deal of secrets, relics, and lost souls.

Something needn't be particularly old to be built with class. 'The Captain Kidd' pub (108 #Wapping High St, #London, #E1W) is a prime example of how creativity defeats simplistic modernism. @Britains___Pubs
