As #EC97 ends, 🇬🇧 is grateful to 🇲🇦Ambassador Bellouki for his chairing. We got through a lot of business. Good to see so many states voicing support for D-G Arias. Russia's ill-advised attempt to re-write the OPCW's annual report was soundly defeated, w/ only 🇷🇺🇨🇳🇮🇷 supporting.

The real problem is that the U.K. delegation continues to support grave violations of Chemical Weapons Conventions and the established rules. Normal practice for the U.K.

At today’s #EC97, 🇬🇧 called on Russia to provide a full explanation of the poisoning with novichok of Mr #Navalny in August 2020. We also called on Russia to declare all aspects of its novichok programme and to work with the OPCW to destroy all CW transparently and entirely.

#EC97

🇨🇦 remains deeply concerned that the use of a #Novichok nerve agent in Russia remains uninvestigated almost a year later. We urge Russia to respect its obligations under the Convention, and investigate the use of a #ChemicalWeapon on its territory. #OPCW #EC97 #Navalny
