Epstein Truth Commission Chair Andrea Romero used taxpayer dollars to pay a PR firm for political opposition research on New Mexico legislators and the Attorney General. The Commission's Republican members were kept completely in the dark. This is not an isolated mistake. It's a pattern. Romero held a job the Attorney General found violated state law, used the Commission's PR firm to defend herself, faces pay-to-play accusations over $100,000 she steered to the office that hired her and deleted Deb Haaland’s name out of the Commission’s report. This is the culture of corruption in Santa Fe: public money used as a political weapon, and Democratic leadership unwilling to hold their own accountable. The victims of Jeffrey Epstein and New Mexico taxpayers deserve better than this. Chair Romero must explain these invoices, release the work product and tell New Mexicans who directed this research. #NewMexico #nmpol
