@rheumpatient @EULAR_JC @jeffsparks Great question, we are actively designing observational studies to complement some of the translational work, examining the efficacy of vaccines in pts on RTX, JAKi, and other DMARDs. We need more data to understand which pts need add'l boosters or other approaches. #EULARJC

@EULAR_JC @zach_wallace_md @jeffsparks Are you currently doing a study looking at the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines in preventing COVID-19 infections, and if so is it still pts on rituximab or JAKi who are likely to get infected/have worse outcomes? #EULARJC
@EULAR_JC @jeffsparks We think that these findings would apply to pts with other rheumatic diseases besides RA because we think they have more to do with the drug than the rheumatic disease. #EULARJC
@EULAR_JC @jeffsparks The @rheum_covid registry collects cases from around the world but the majority of cases are from North America & Europe. We would certainly want to study this in other geographic areas as well but we think our findings would be similar. #EULARJC

You might expect IL-6 inhibitors to have the best outcomes related to possible cytokine storm. We found they generally had similar outcomes as TNFi
This makes me wonder about possible efficacy of TNFi for COVID- RCTs are underway #EULARJC
