11 Sept 2026: $40 Trillion of What? 🪙 Market Commentary: Ugly day in the markets, with an escalation in war and rising yields as the main drivers of the gap down early in the session. Dip buyers took one last stand as they attempted to pile into the same names but to no avail - weak closes across the board as net new lows exploded for the session. In dollar land, my observation on a reduced ROC to the downside came on time, with the DXY showing strength and reclaiming the 200-SMA in a double bottom looking formation (daily chart). The metals in relation took it to the chin, triggering short sale entries on the loss of the 20-EMA, or in Copper's case, a double top short sale trigger. In crypto land, the flag consolidations are morphing and failing, coupled with HYPEUSD breaking the 20-EMA + ZCash very extended does not bode well for crypto. This is not the environment for position building investors, a dangerous environment especially with apparent complacency all around. Notes: > Yields continue their ascent higher in spite of Bessent's 'I'm the house call'. Pairing that with dollar strength affirms the main narrative being the 800 pound gorilla in the room: $40 tn dollars of debt (unsustainable fiscal debt). > QQQ beautiful flag/VCP: Those seem to have never worked when you pair it with a lack of coherent theme + constructive price action/setups.
