This very curious kid from day 34 came back for a teachers kit he definitely needed it because he is going very good.
He took his Foldscope to school and his teacher recognised it and got very excited.

You have to put yourself out there because there are people who would want to talk to you if they knew you, vice versa.
As always, I came kids I don't know so open minded to explore what they don't know.

Youngest foldscope user, he developed more understanding about we wash our hands other fellow babies in his age. He is showing what we do if our hands are dirty, what is it like and why.
I am trying to learn teaching a topic in different levels.

A) Pushing the needle abit further. Used slightly different approach as I chose random place once I remembered to do activity and parked next to sewing shop with kid inside.
The barrier was how I can gain credibility and make the visit relevant!

A) Season change has influenced the challenge to be tougher as i can't anymore depend on doing activity when I am coming back home at night which saved me many times in my journey to not break the chain of daily outreach
Anyway I am going to adopt

A) Rolling-on the wheel down the hope. As winter came, more excuses to skip days due cold, day is short, kids go home early
In reality it's typical human reaction exaggerating to slow down for survival by saving extra energy as peace of mind.

I was having sandwich and this student came to have a tea. I had Foldscope in front of the desk I looked at Foldscope and it looked back to me so I said hi and started conversation with him then I moved next to him to show Foldscope.

It has been around 10 days I didn't do outreach properly
I was reflecting back, see where I am going, how I am taking all this with me and why?
It is nice lonely feeling to do something so unique that no-one else doing.
But today I resumed anyway

Football match then science activity. What dream community kids can have full of joy and learning at the same time.
One kid had already Foldscope before I sent him one in my brother's school so he was surprised to meet me in street.

Imagine you open house door and find infront of you kids just easily with less effort instead of looking for them.
They were so excited to look at many different samples and prepare new one with them.
One day at a time high or low but to keep going.

Here I was in meeting with group of small community "Estekshif" we're trying to build with youth and this little girl came trying to sell gum in cafe.

2nd visit to bike maintenance workshop where kids be there.
We were having a good talk together until one kid annoyed the man and he shouted at him with bad words I had to get involved a bit later.
That unexpected thing disturbed the activity.

Met 2 hard working kids selling veg/fruits on makeshift stall. I had chit chat with them about education.
Right one is out of school and left is 3rd grade they had answers to most wonders I raised.
From then every time I pass by they give me salute.

My cousin Mustafa receiving his unit and getting used to Foldscope to show at his school.
One small action can lead to other bigger ones so never underestimate the power of starting small and maintaining the momentum with scale if possible.

a) Yay finally taking the #challenge to #school.
The kick-start of this was 2 kids.
They invited me to their school couple times today I finally made it, so glad I did it.
They helped me to push the challenge to new level and resume my field trips

I got roasted by kids for not visiting their school yet!😄
This is first time community is reflecting back naturally on what I been trying to normalise.
On Monday I will be doing activity in a school based on a request from kids.
