My wife and I basically never fight, argue, or have prolonged disagreements. There are many reasons for this. -She is a sweet, funny, enjoyable woman who works very hard to make our home beautiful and enjoyable for me and our family. -I am a patient, kind, and gentle husband who works very hard to provide a good life for our family, and lead them in the way of Christ and sound thinking. -Her role and mine go hand in hand and work to mutually benefit each other. So there really are few occasions for disagreement. -But further than that, she is fully aware that my family is my priority, and that nobody in the world will be put before them. -I'll give you an example: One time, we actually did get into a heated fight on our way to a party at our friends' house. As we approached the home, our fight had not been settled and we were not in fellowship. So I stopped the car on the side of the road. My wife was petrified. We were already running late, the party was waiting on us because we were bringing the main course, and there were important business connections there that were waiting to meet us. But I told her that we would not proceed to the party until we were back in fellowship. All of our friends could just be hungry, and the business connections would simply have to wait or leave. Further, I would not degrade her by putting her in a position where she had to put on a smiling face in front of a room full of people knowing that she was upset. We worked the issue out. We proceeded to the party in fellowship, and had a great time. That always stuck with her. She knew, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that my family is my priority. When men and women own their roles, and when our loves are in order there are few reasons to fight with each other.
