We're entering our third heatwave of the year. We're calling this one #HeatwaveBP. (After all, if storms get names, fossil-fuel-amplified heatwaves should get sponsors.) Here's a little reminder of what 38°C does to a country whose infrastructure was built for a milder climate, maintained through austerity, and upgraded mainly via the aspirational phrase "lessons will be learned". Perhaps an incoming Prime Minister could give this some thought.

We're now entering UK and Europe's third heatwave of the year. We should start naming them like storms, but instead of harmless alphabetical names, we name them after fossil-fuel companies and lobby networks that helped make the problem worse. What should we call this one?
