I donβt post much these days but since we left Apollo Beach in Tampa Bay a few months ago, I want to share #HurricaneTips in case it helps someone with Hurricane Milton.
1. Tampa parking garages are open for you to park during the storm. I donβt know about wind, but it will help protect your vehicle against storm surge if you are by the coast.
2. If you havenβt been able to get out and have no other options, find your nearest emergency shelter.
3. Fill your clean bath tub full of water, or fill it up with plastic lining first. You will need it.
4. Keep your birth certificates and important docs in a plastic waterproof bag and in a safe place.
5. Use the satellite feature on your iPhone to stay connected.
6. Keep gates and doors closed to prevent wind damage as much as possible:
7. Get a good nightβs sleep tonight. Maybe take some melatonin. Tomorrow will be exhausting and youβll want to be awake and aware tomorrow night. Remember, your life is what matters. Not your things.

Hurricane tips I sent to my employees in Tampa and Orlando and Sarasota.
Stay safe out there.
