An igloo stays warm not because snow produces heat but because snow is mostly trapped air which makes it an excellent insulator. Once inside, body heat slightly melts the inner surface and that thin layer refreezes into ice, sealing tiny gaps and reducing heat loss even further. Builders also design the entrance lower than the sleeping area so cold air sinks near the doorway while warm air remains trapped above. Structurally, the dome shape spreads weight evenly, turning soft snow blocks into a self locking compression shell, which is why a properly built igloo can support the weight of a person standing on top without collapsing.
