Continuous in-situ monitoring from the Irish National Tide Gauge Network #INTGN make it possible to capture these types of phenomena. @ger_the_sea & @alanpberry describe the meteotsunami event from June that affected the Irish south coast.
A yearly servicing of each #INTGN gauge includes an inter-comparison of electronic and manual calibrations during a full tidal cycle.

The main sensor at each @MarineInst Tide Gauge #INTGN node is an OTT Contact Bubbler Sensor with a data logger to measure water level. Some nodes also measure sea temperature and air pressure parameters.
