Our final @eBug_UK activity of the day is hand hygiene. All of our attendees learnt the 6 steps of hand hygiene this morning and so now we need to put their learning into practice! #IPCWalsall
So it turns out the Shrek mask was used to demonstrate how far we spread germs when we sneeze! Everyone was surprised at the results and vowed to use catch it, bin it, kill it in the future (or use a tissue, throw it away and wash hands) #IPCWalsall
We are nearing the end of our @eBug_UK training in #Walsall and this session is all about #AMR The balloons were used to demonstrate how the bacteria becomes resistant to antibiotics - A simple but effective demonstration #IPCWalsall
So this morning we learned the theory behind food safety from @EHWalsall and this afternoon means we can participate in the @eBug_UK practical activities. This activity is what is in your fridge and where should it be stored. #IPCWalsall
Our final session this morning #oralhealth We hope to provide our attendees with some background information including #oralhealth in #Walsall ,how decay is formed, reducing frequency &amount of sugar and the importance of tooth brushing & fluoride #IPCWalsall

Our @EHWalsall food safety officers are updating our attendees about the correct way to store food in fridges, food hygiene practices and what can go wrong if we don't follow the advice! All of this information will be included in our @eBug_UK roll out in #Walsall #IPCWalsall

Next up as part of our @eBug_UK training is Sue our health protection practitioner who is providing an overview on micro-organisms. Did you know that they make up more than 60% of the earths living matter? We will be finding out more about viruses, fungi & bacteria #IPCWalsall

Next up on the agenda is the launch of the updated infection prevention and control care home audit tool. The 5 domains are the environment of the care home, training, health and safety, compliance with policies and procedures and PPE to minimise infection risks #IPCWalsall
