We are bringing you photos of the 1936 celebrations of the 18th anniversary of Poland regaining its sovereignty. They were taken by Julien Bryan, who would witness the siege of Warsaw three years later.
Within just a few weeks, the Germans pushed the Soviet armies out of the entire territory of occupied Poland. The end of the collaboration between two enemies of Poland was a favourable circumstance, promising brighter prospects for regaining independence.📷#IPNArchive images.
On 22 May the #IPNArchive was visited by the representatives of state institutions from Kazakhstan. Their visit was related to the third meeting of the Polish-Kazakhstan Historical Commission which investigates the fate of Poles deported deep into USSR in the years 1939-1947.
The #IPNArchive just saw a press conference of Deputy President Mateusz Szpytma and Archive Director Marzena Kruk, in which Mr. Bartłomiej Stanisław Moszaro, Honorary Consul of Poland in Argentina, donated his family memorabilia to the IPN Archive Full of Remembrance project.
The Long Night of the Museums at the #IPNArchive held last night in Warsaw was a unique opportunity to visit archival storerooms, which are not normally accessible to the public, as well as to have a look at archival materials meticulously restored by our conservators.
Today, Israeli Ambassador @YacovLivne was given a tour of the #IPNArchive, where he met Deputy President Mateusz Szpytma and Director Marzena Kruk, and was introduced to the resources and procedures of collecting, preserving, and digitizing artefacts.
