Our newsroom is operating under new guidelines. Reporters now live from their cell phones, told not to come to the station. Work from home. FT interviews when possible. Anchors will be separated on set. Similar to what newsrooms across the country are doing. #coronavirus #COVID19

PLEASE do not say *reporter name here* "is live now." Live and now are the same thing. Just say live.
8) Don't let the story drag longer than necessary. If wallpaper video is poison, wallpaper video on a story that's too long is poison without an antidote!
9) Just because VOs and VOSOTS are shorter than PKGs, that doesn't mean you can't find the emotion.
Ideally, by getting some NEW piece of information about it and pushing it forward.
Metaphor:
The story is a car.
The viewer is the passenger.
Every time viewers get in the car, they want to feel like they went somewhere.
Don't keep them in the same place!

I fear we perpetuate bad habits in 1st markets.
Producers/reporters just out of college look around, see non-conversational, cliche writing & think it's what bosses want. So they adopt it.
Then, a year later, new batch of students copy them. Cycle continues.
