In Kaido's case, I think it's better if he remains in a state of unconfirmed death. Kaido was obsessed with dying in the same way as WB & Roger, so that he would never be forgetting, like Xebec was. We also know that volcanic eruptions are connected to the creation of sea-stone, so, I think that it would be perfect for Kaido's fate to end up being that he gets encased in sea-stone, becoming a statue of himself. This would be the perfect irony. In Big Mom's case, there's much more of a viable argument for her coming back, her life span powers are a perfect get-out clause for her to escape death. However, it was established in Wano that Big Mom can only heal herself by consuming life span, and turning her own body parts into Homies. If she does this too much, she will eventually become more Homie than Human. I think this is most likely how Big Mom will make her return, not as Big Mom at all, but as some kind of Homie-chimera phantom. Not a human at all anymore, but a spectral calamity.
