#KeepPraying - Grace, Not Works
One of the most common misunderstandings in the Christian faith is the mixing up of grace and works when it comes to salvation.
The Bible is crystal clear:
“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith — and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God — not by works, so that no one can boast.”
— Ephesians 2:8-9
Why Grace, Not Works?
Grace means God’s unmerited favour — something we could never earn or deserve.
Works (good deeds, religious rituals, trying to be a “good person”) cannot save us because none of us are good enough. We have all fallen short (Romans 3:23).
If salvation could be earned by works, then Jesus died for nothing. The cross would be unnecessary.
Many people are deceived by a “works-based salvation” because it feels logical to human thinking:
“I’ll be good enough…”
“I’ll go to church enough…”
“I’ll do enough good things to balance out the bad…”
This is a subtle trap. It turns the gospel into a performance-based religion instead of a relationship based on God’s love and mercy. It leaves people either prideful (“I’ve done enough”) or in constant despair (“I’ll never be enough”).
The True Order:
Grace saves us (God’s gift).
Faith receives it.
Works should naturally follow as the fruit of genuine salvation.
Works don’t save us — but true salvation always and inevitably result in a transformed life of good works. They are the evidence, not the cause. It is possible for believers to remain in a carnal state for their entire lives.
Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”
He never said “Work harder and maybe one day you’ll be worthy.”
Salvation is a free gift. All we have to do is receive it by faith.
A Simple Prayer Today:
Lord,
Thank You that salvation is not earned by my efforts, but given by Your amazing grace.
Forgive me for the times I’ve tried to earn what You freely gave.
Help me rest in Your finished work on the cross, and let my life produce good fruit because I am saved — not in order to be saved.
I trust in You alone for my salvation.
Amen…

Many churches you attend will have you all mixed up with grace and works.
They'll say 'yes you are saved by grace, BUT, if you don't have works your faith is dead'.
Which has put many into a quandary, as they never ever tell you how many good deeds you need to perform, and the anguish intensifies when you fail to keep the ten commandments.
Better to read your bible and pray for the Holy Spirit to guide you and for wisdom to be able to fully comprehend what you read, without any BUTS.
Then you will have assurance of your salvation, knowing that you have been given eternal life from the minute you believed. And yes, eternal means never-ending, so your faith cannot die.
For if you could lose it, it could never have been called eternal life.
Amen...
