Inflation is a complete scam. If you think it's normal, or "just the way it is" for everything you need to live to get more expensive every year, you are a victim of said scam. It is most certainly NOT normal. Back when gold was the monetary standard of the world, families would pass their savings down through generations, and people's purchasing power would INCREASE over time. This is because the supply of gold is relatively capped--it can't be printed and debased. Fiat money, i.e. the worthless pieces of paper we use today, can be infinitely printed by central bankers, giving a select few in the 0.1% the power to dilute (steal) everyone else's purchasing power at will. Naturally, they use plenty of this free money to run a massive cross-disciplinary marketing campaign, to fool the population into thinking the money supply HAS to grow, and we NEED a handful of bureaucrats pulling levers on the money supply in order to "keep us safe from recessions", and other classic nanny-speak bullshit. What that really means is, "infinite ability to prolong degenerate Wall St. gambling bubbles, by squeezing out all of the population's savings, and funneling it up to the top".
