Viewing these now, able to slow down &look at head-bands, &factoring in moulting, I am so confused about who’s who. The first burra has LB’s band but Buzz/Bill’s youthful stippling - which LB can sometimes have. The horns tell me it’s *probably* Buzz. 🤷♀️🫤

Altho we’d already stopped by LB’s spot &only a yearling had met us, we ducked back after the kerfuffle with the eagle in case anyone needed us.
LB had flown in to check up on everyone &he immediately met me at the ute. Very glad to get food in him.

Big drama at Onyx’s today! A baby LB got stranded on the tower when the young eagle was hunting. Egg &I went down to keep him company &reduce the risk of the eagle coming too close. Egg was making baby-answering calls to him🥹

The OG made an unexpected appearance this evening when I took the back road home on the assumption they wouldn’t be there so late.
This is the first time I’ve seen LB properly in a while. He hasn’t had hearts in AGES so he topped out.

It’s been nearly 2wks since we saw one LB older kiddo, but today there were 6 visible! Buzz &Fingerbone Bill in charge, & 2 yearlings being very confident, with 2 new baby Demandos grizzling for attention. It was SO COOL!

FLEDGLING PARTY!!!
It was utter chaos with Buzz &Fingerbone Bill trying to teach the yearlings &one yearling staked out the ute bcs he got it into his head Egg isn’t family, so I had to settle Egg down. In it all LB was just himself. #kookalife #LBBurra
In his dad element. LB is happiest with babies to care for. I scattered food bcs I didn’t have time to stay for the back&forth of hand feeding/delivery, but we fit in a 1-1 chat before this. You can hear him incorporate my laugh in his food-to-babies chatter.

I saw the LB crew on Wednesday. 6 birds total: mum, dad, Buzz, Fingerbone Bill, one of the last brood, and maybe(?) Chancey (he’s old enough to be leaving so it could a second from the last brood).

After a BridgeBurra had the hide to intrude &make a boundary call right in the LB’s zone, Egg responded with a defence call &the LBs rolled in like the cavalry😂
