Not quite the result needed but at least @DanAmartey saved the day from an outright (back to back) embarrassment of #BluePride on home ground. Look forward to @LCFC next @EuropaLeague challenge on the 25th at #kingspower #EFL #LEISPM #football #bluearmy #blueblood

I suppose that’s the end of the thread, there’s other issues in #LCFC’s game but I’ll maybe provide some analysis of that next week. Until then, I hope for a good performance against Leeds & see it as a chance for Rodgers to rectify a *lot* of these issues! #LeiSpm

Perhaps the most frustrating thing of all, is that #LCFC have the players. They do show their qualities. I can also see the style Rodgers is aiming for & isn’t quite getting right. But, if I can see it (an unqualified observer on Twitter), why can’t the coaches? #LeiSpm

Aside from the Man United game, which was exceptional from start-to-finish (but also an anomaly with regards to prep time for Rodgers — who stated he used the entire international break fixing issues ahead of that game), how many times have #LCFC played well this season? #LeiSpm

This isn’t intended as a reactionary take, I’ve had issues with #LCFC’s approach for a little while now. They are however, emphasised in periods like the one we’re going through currently. But, to overcome bad results you need to put the performances in. #LeiSpm

We did look threatening on set-pieces, mainly due to adding a player attacking the front-post (which negates any “bad” deliveries in that area). Perhaps the efforts in training have been in those areas of #LCFC’s game. But, we have so many bigger issues. #LeiSpm

What do #LCFC focus on inside of training? It’s not passing and moving, as there’s so little of that. If it’s defensive shape/structure, that needs a lot of work — we conceded one good chance & Spartak scored. We haven’t kept a clean sheet in 15 matches (all comps). #LeiSpm

It’s also difficult to overlook an entire team underperforming (minus a few players) & not question the coaching/management. I’ve been incredibly supportive of Rodgers (& will continue to do so), but that doesn’t mean I don’t think he should be questioned. #LeiSpm

They’re low on confidence (which is happening with a lot more frequency in recent times) & also instructed to favour passing through a side. It’s extremely difficult, & even more so with the previously mentioned issues, to pass through a block (instead of dribbling). #LeiSpm

On the subject of take-on’s and dribbling, #LCFC’s squad isn’t baron of players capable of doing so. Lookman, Barnes, Soumaré, Ricardo, Pérez, Castagne, Maddison, Iheanacho, etc. All of these players have the profiles/qualities to do so, yet aren’t — why is that? #LeiSpm

We’re also seemingly fixated on scoring the “perfect goal”, and retain possession around the edge of the box until a magical pocket of space just forms. You have to force these openings, move to create these spaces, take-on a player to bypass their press. #LeiSpm

Arguably, Rodgers’ hand was forced by illnesses. Would’ve we played a 3-4-1-2 if Barnes was fit, perhaps not, but these fundamental issues have transcended all structures/player selections for the last year. There was plenty of quality on display in the XI to win. #LeiSpm

I also think Rodgers is instructing #LCFC’s forwards to stay central. Which, in the final stages of a possession is correct, but in the building phases makes us extremely predictable. Let them drift into the channel, especially in a 3-back formation (little width). #LeiSpm

The amount of times I watched the entire front line of #LCFC (& the midfield) just walk around aimlessly is ridiculous. It’s every week — make decoy runs, help your players in depth by creating angles. Setting up in a block negates everything we try to create. #LeiSpm

It can be frustrating for a player to make a piece of movement/create space & not be utilised. But, this is fundamental in elite sports regardless of whether you receive the ball — by making constant efforts to find/create space, you’re stretching/moving the opposition. #LeiSpm

Najpierw Vardy nie strzela karnego a teraz Nacho staje na drodze strzału KDH, który wylądowałby w bramce. Dużo pecha a sytuacja w grupie nie robi się bardziej kolorowa. #LEISPM
