National Forest Products Week! Currently there are 2 timber sales on the NZ that are being actively logged. Granite South & Far North TS. Additionally, the Bob Stormster TS is currently advertised. All decked timber resulted from #MooseFire have been sold & are under contract.

Work is ongoing in the #MooseFire area to inventory and assess exclosures which are in place to protect important sites and areas. A long term plan will be created for repair or replacement of these exclosures once all sites are inventoried.

Post Fire Invasive Species Control on the #MooseFire
The Invasive Species Program is treating noxious weeds with ground-based treatment after last year’s Moose Fire.
Ground-based treatments began in June and are focused on treating weeds along roadsides and dozerlines.

Staff continue to make great progress on hazard tree removal at Wallace Lake CG, A portion of the CG should be open soon while the portion of the CG which sustained more damage from the #MooseFire will require more work & will remain closed for a longer period of time.

Crews from the Salmon Airbase have been working in Wallace Lake Campground on hazard tree mitigation. Hazard trees have been removed from the the walking trail east of the lake and around the spring box for the campgrounds water. Work is ongoing. #MooseFire

Work begins today at Wallace Lake Campground. Currently the area is unsafe because of the danger of dead or damaged trees falling as a result of the #MooseFire. Crews will be working to remove hazard trees as part of the restoration process for the CG.
