@derbyshiredales is managing this area #Morledge #Matlock for nature. In a short time there are a variety of species coming through. Bush vetch, lesser hop trefoil, fox and cubs and ragwort (complete with cinnabar moth) amongst others. #RestoreNatureNow

Why is the world afraid of long grass/meadows? For those adopting a #NoMowSummer, I applaud you👏 You are setting the standard & 100% helping your local wildlife. Since we are no longer in May, I’m conscious the mowers are being dusted off, so I’d just like to say #JuneIsTooSoon

My long standing suggestion to mow round the edges has finally been implemented. Well done @derbyshiredales this will allow the smaller species to come through and should satisfy the people who like to control nature.

We have a cordon in place in the #Morledge end of East Street after a small gas leak earlier today. A few paving slabs were dislodged in the incident and is being managed by gas engineers. There may be some disruption for shoppers or visitors to #Derby city centre.
