Alright, time to watch the gulf for the first time this year for any meaningful development, specifically the Bay of Campeche. The Google Deepmind 1,000 member ensemble develops 40% of members into a tropical cyclone at the moment, with 26% reaching hurricane strength.
Still a ways out but worth watching trends over the next couple days. Water temps in the gulf are currently running well above average.

Meanwhile, in the MDR, a heavily sheared system with an LLC and DMC exists - a newer ASCAT will be needed to see if this system contains gales or TD force winds, but it posesses the hallmarks of a weak, sheared TC.
