This absolutely needs to change and I am grateful for the #Nativejournalists working to do so and building up our own networks. We are a valuable resource and we know our worth as journalists and as Native people. We know the power of our voices and our stories.
And we kind of knew before it completely fell apart because there were red flags and we were hoping we were wrong. But Natives...#NativeJournalists are rarely treated with respect or prioritized in the newsroom beyond how we can be tokenized, provide funding opportunities, etc
