For this week’s #ObjectThursday, we have a gold figure of a seated #Achaemenid man from the #Oxus Treasure series. He’s wearing a high, stiff cap, trousers and a long tunic with edge decoration. 1/3
For this week’s #ObjectThursday, we have a distinctively #Achaemenid #sword , of the style which was known to the Greeks as an #akinakes. It is made of forged iron, with an oval section hilt terminating at a T-shaped pommel and a swollen guard.

This #ObjectThursday is another entry from the #Oxus finds (at Takht-i Kuwad). This is a "gold plaque ornament depicting a #lion-#griffin with horns, long ears, a leaf-ended tail, and hooves.
Today’s #ObjectThursday is an #Achaemenid axehead. It was excavated in Deve Hüyük, near Carchemish, and is made of #iron. On one side is the axe blade, and the other side of the shaft hole the metal extends backwards into a pick.
For this weeks #ObjectThursday we have an impressive drinking vessel made entirely of #gold (dimensions 17 × 13.8 × 9.2 cm, 1 kg). In the #Achaemenid period, animal heads were often placed at a right angle to the cup, as in this piece.

After @Immortalsgroup did their #ObjectThursday about the gaunaka/kandys coat, I decided to try my hand at one. W.i.p. but the body is wool, cuffs are cotton, lapels are linen. Needs a linen lining then embroidery. Looking forward to adding it to my Achaemenid kit.
