#PassRushTips: Always rush with a counter that flows off of your primary move. Not because you’ll have to use it, but to be prepared in the event that you do. Nothing worse than getting your primary rush stuffed & watching the QB throw a TD. Have a “Plan B”!
#PassRushTips: The get off is the most important part of rushing the passer. You can win with your get off alone. There are times when your rush move will fall apart, but because you had a great get off you have a shot at getting to the QB! #SacksAndStats
#PassRushTips - If your rush move has some type of “set up” (stutter/jab, hand feint, etc), then make sure you sell it properly.
IMO: The set up is more important than the move.
You can beat the blocker off the set up alone. “Make them buy what you’re selling!”
#PassRushTips - Take a second to study your opponent mid-game. Is he wearing knee braces? Lots of tape on his ankles? Having a hard time getting in & out of his stance? Etc.
Whether you’re a speed, power or finesse rusher, all these signs should help you plan your attack!
#PassRushTips: Your next move is better than your last move. Stay active in the rush. At the end of the day, we wanna affect the QB; whether that’s sacking him, hitting him, or using the ground to punish him! #sacksandstats
#PassRushTips: Have a #passrush plan & execute your plan. If you've studied your opponent, you'll know what might work & what won't. A well-executed spin move, even vs horizontal pads, gives you a shot to win if you've done your homework!
#PassRushTips: Whether you're an edge rusher or interior DL, work on reducing your hitting surface. OL are taught to "capture your chest" so they can control you. Drills like this one help develop the torque & muscle memory needed for proper pad reduction!
#PassRushTips: Edge Rushers - Study where the QB sets in the pocket when they pass. Not where they drop, but where they set their feet & go through their route progressions. That way you don't overrun the QB & can take a proper rush angle to them! @R2X_Rushmen1 #passrush
