Status quo funding to the @UA_System will require a #PFDcut of $246. That is = to a TAX of 5.1% on a Low Income, 1.7% on a Middle Income but only 0.4% on a Top 20% family of 4. A better alternative is a #FlatTax of 0.6% on both residents & non-res receiving Alaska income. #akleg

SMH. Kevin Meyer is a tax (#PFDcut) & spend R. As an #akleg he has been a key part of the problem. The push by the Chamber of Commerce R's to pair him with Mike Dunleavy is their Plan B to keep 'their' good times rolling at the expense of the overall #AKecon & #AKfams. #akelect

Today's #PFDcut Factoid: Some suggest today's PFD battle is a con't of the old Hammond/Hickel wars. It isn't. Instead, it is an effort by the Top 20% to dodge the costs of con't govt spending by pushing them onto the Remaining 80% through PFD cuts. #akleg

Today's #PFDcut factoid: The #akleg is beginning to use the $$PFD as the third savings account, having drained the first two (the SBR & CBR). And like the first two, they will keep spending the PFD unchecked until it is gone. Gov. Hammond had the solution, but will any adopt it.

#PFDcut factoid: Currently, non-residents earning income in AK pay tax on it to their home state (if one of the 43 w/ an #IncTax). If AK used a #FlatTax (instead of #PFDcuts), AK would receive those $$tax instead, reducing AKs share. Why is #akleg forcing AKs to pay MORE????

#PFDcut factoid: #PFDcuts only apply to AKs. A #FlatTax on the other hand would apply also to $$ earned by non-residents from AK sources. According to ISER, REVENUES REQUIRED FROM AKs WOULD BE ~7% LESS if raised through a #FlatTax. Why is #akleg forcing AKs to pay MORE????
