#RPU took a punt on stopping this vehicle in #GREATGONERBY. It had no insurance, tax, or MOT, and the tyre had cord exposed. The driver was reported. The vehicle was prohibited and seized. Saying “I only use the back roads” is no excuse. We only need to be lucky once. #PG9

This Vauxhall was stopped on the #M6 as there appeared to be an issue with his suspension. On examining the vehicle the coil springs appeared to be deformed. Vehicle has been prohibited and driver reported. #PG9 #OpLightning #RCT1

This Vauxhall was stopped in the @Policingstoke area as it had an insecure load and faulty indicators. #PG9 The driver didn’t initially want to stay and chat. All came apparent when we discovered they didn’t have a valid licence or insurance. #OpLightning #RCT1

If you are going to undertake on a roundabout at speed and proceed through a red light at junction 16 of the #M6 please make sure your car is also road worthy. This driver not only ended up with points and fines his vehicle was also prohibited. #PG9 #OpLightning #RCT1

We have stopped a Mercedes today and found the handbrake wasn’t working. Due to the serious safety risk, the vehicle was immediately prohibited from continuing its journey. #PG9 Please keep your vehicle maintained to help keep our roads safe. #OpLightning #RCT1

The gift that kept on giving. We stopped this Mercedes on the #M6. The driver did not have a licence, insurance, not wearing his seatbelt and cord was showing on his tyre. #PG9 The driver was also wanted by immigration. The driver arrested and vehicle seized. #OpLightning #RCT1
