Really interesting change is going to land in #PHPCSFixer in the (hopefully) near future 🥰! This not only means you will be able to use FQCNs to configure Fixer rules, but it will also unlock using 3rd party fixers like those from Easy Coding Standard, that use FQCN as name 🤩.
After almost a year since I created it, my PR to #PHPCSFixer that introduces #PHPCompatibility check was merged 🥳. This improves our QA suite with another tool that can catch usage of language features not available on runtimes marked as supported.

- bugs reported and verified
- backlog issues representing new features or improvements, with clear Definition of Done

@BohuslavSimek There are tools that can automate migration, like #PHPCSFixer can change #PHPUnit annotation to attributes 🙂. Getting rid of legacy annotations may require a lot of work, but PHP ecosystem is great and helps a lot ☺️.
To migrate your code to comply with #PHP 8.4, update all implicit nullable types to explicit nullable types.
Periodic reminder that #PHPCSFixer now supports parallelisation (utilising multiple CPUs), which can drastically improve analysis time 🤩. The easiest way is to enable CPU auto-detection, but you can provide fixed values too. If you're using this, please share your feedback 😊.
I made @PHPCSFixer N-times faster, depending on the available CPU cores 🥳! For Fixer itself, it allowed to reduce analysis time from 65 to 12 seconds on my computer 🤩!

@mattpocockuk In general I agree, but I believe sometimes it's impossible to run full CI locally. Let's take #PHPCSFixer as an example - Fixer itself and tests are run on all supported PHP versions, and even though it's technically possible to do it locally, it's cumbersome and time-consuming.
My second micro-contribution to #Symfony 😊. It enables #PHPCSFixer's parallel runner when working with Symfony codebase.

@mattpocockuk And yeah, I am a huge fan of local scripting that allows dev to run more or less the same QA suite that is run in the CI. I use `composer qa` for this and fought hard for that in #PHPCSFixer. But in GetResponse I introduced @CaptainHookPHP to reduce failed pipelines from devs.

I think this is the most important part of the whole "wrapping" approach. When Pint was introduced & people in the Laravel community were like "oh wow, I've been waiting for this my whole life", I felt really bad for the #PHPCSFixer team (which actually led to me joining them).

@agustingomes @nicolasgrekas I agree, it's one of my favourite features in PHP added ~recently, along with everything related to the type system, attributes and constructor property promotion. I wait for the moment when we ditch enough old PHP versions in #PHPCSFixer so we can use them all 🥹.
