#ProjectProteus Bosnia Herzegovina. There is also a rich biodiversity above ground in the area around Trebinje, including loads of Lepidoptera - although most were too active to photo with an iPhone. Some flowers and a lizard were more obliging. @conservationucl @MSc_aquaticUCL

#ProjectProteus Speleobiology at Trebinje, Bosnia Herzegovina. Today I saw a Cave Salamander Proteus anguinus in its natural, underground waterbody habitat (a washed-in Trout was also present). Other Cave fauna seen included Cave Crickets and the pictured Apfelbeckia insculpta.
