Listen below to the #ATCAudio communications from #ProvoTower and N831AZ. #PlaneCrash #UtahLake At approx 1005 this morning a 2001 #Cirrus #SR22 contacted #ProvoTower for landing. The aircraft had departed #StGeorge #Utah at 0833AM. Aircraft Reg: N831AZ was cleared to land on runway 13. As the pilot was preparing for landing, another aircraft was on the runway and didn’t clear on time so #N831AZ had to go around. While on the #GoAround the aircraft was on the northern part of #ProvoAirport when it suddenly went down. Another aircraft advised the tower that the #Cirrus went down. That pilot got overhead the crash site saying the plane broke apart and that the #Parachute was deployed. The #SR22 has a safety feature of a parachute built into the aircraft which is deployed by a handle in the cockpit. At the altitude they were at it possible that the #Parachute didn’t have enough time to fully deploy. According to details the aircraft sunk and was in about 8ft of water with 2 people onboard. Neither have been recovered at this time. Multiple resources are on scene. Stby for updates.
