Famed Nunawading Studios Open for Business Again The famed Nunawading television studios — once home to some of Australia’s most iconic programs including Neighbours, Prisoner, Young Talent Time and Rove Live — are officially open for business again. Now known as The Studio Forest Hill, the site was decommissioned last September after Fremantle Australia vacated the facility. But like a phoenix, the studios have been given a new lease on life, with Matt Batten and TV City now helping drive a new vision for the site. And the cameras are already rolling. A major feature film has been shooting at the studios for the past four months, making extensive use of the facilities, while interest from other productions continues to grow. Studio A and Studio B comprise some of the largest television studio spaces in Melbourne outside of Docklands Studios. The site also offers production offices, extensive storage facilities and additional spaces suitable for film, television and content production. Batten says momentum is building quickly, with bookings already filling across the remainder of 2026. “It’s fantastic to see a major production shooting here and activity returning to the studios. We’re now receiving strong interest from other productions, and the remainder of the year is quickly booking out.” “The Studio is purpose-built to take your project from concept to screen seamlessly. We have the studio space, offices, storage and facilities all in the one location, and we’re excited about what’s ahead.” With a major film already in production and bookings filling for the remainder of the year, The Studio Forest Hill is once again becoming a busy Melbourne production hub.
