🚨 BREAKING: Illegal Sudanese migrant who randomly murdered a grandfather whilst on police bail for another random stabbing has been jailed for 24 years and 59 days.
• Mark Carroll, 55, was stabbed in the back in St Martin’s Gardens on 10 April 2024 while walking with a friend. Rahman did not know him. He fled still holding the knife, threatened others and was caught after an hour. Judge Dodd called it a shocking, cowardly, random attack and said he is a very dangerous young man.
• He had signed a kitchen knife out of supported housing. Days earlier he was bailed twice after a canal towpath disturbance and an alleged church break-in. Two months before that he stabbed a stranger in Ilford.
• He told immigration officers he entered in a lorry as a child, was found working in Essex in 2021 and later given temporary leave after an asylum claim.
