इस समय भारत की सीमा से सटा (कच्छ, बाड़मेर, जैसलमेर, जालौर जिले की सीमाओं को स्पर्श करने वाला), पाकिस्तान का 'थारपारकर' जिला, 'दियारी' (दिवाली) मना रहा है। आज भी वहां की 48% जनसंख्या हिन्दू है। किंतु यह दियारी उत्सव खुलेपन से मनाने की स्थिति में वह नहीं है। पिछले कुछ वर्षों में हिन्दुओं पर आक्रमण बढ़े हैं। हिन्दू लड़कियों को उठाकर ले जाना, उन्हें बलात् मुस्लिम धर्म में धर्मांतरित कर उनसे विवाह करना, बाद में उन्हें छोड़ देना यह आम बात है। हालांकि पाकिस्तान में थारपारकर जिले को सबसे ज्यादा सांप्रदायिक सौहार्द्र वाला जिला माना जाता है। किंतु जमिनी हकीकत कुछ और है।
